The only thing that comes into my mind is because of his father. When Sr died all the fans said, hey lets cheer for Jr now!!!

Maybe because Dale Sr. died while racing, so people just focused their favor to his son.

First of all I wasn't a fan of Dale Sr.
I like Junior because he's a good driver, he doesn't whine and complain all of the time, and he's a clean race car driver.

because he is a great race car driver who does not use agression to get a win.. he races people clean. he also has a good business sense & knows what he wants. he does great commercials & is very cute.
