Well Clint Bowyer is a "NASCAR driver" and he hasn't won anything in the Nextel Cup series yet. Yes, Juan Pablo Montoya IS a NASCAR driver. He has been in many series but this is where he will be for a long time. It's hard to say who is a better road course driver between he and Gordon. I think if you put them in a bunch of different cars on different courses Juan would come out on top but if they just used stockcars I think Jeff would do better. They don't have much history to compare the 2 heads up.

Yes you can call him a Nascar driver but he is still a rookie and he still has alot to learn
as far to Austin remark there is a big difference from a mexican and a Colombian and Montoya is a Colombian
Gum Chewer, Montoya look no differnt than any of the other drivers on that road course so your refernce to a 5 year old bumper car driver is complete bull, I have driven a nascar before and the steering is not as everyone thinks and to drive on a road course is not that easy

Yes he is now and all year has been a Nascar driver. As far as a better driver on road courses than Jeff, that still remains to be seen. He has had more experience at it. But Jeff has more wins.

no no no !!!!! what worries the most is that this is just the begining of the influx of IRL league drivers that will begin to switch to NASCAR . just like all the europeon drivers that took over indy racing and what is now known as the begining of the down fall of indy racing many years ago . nobody watches indy racing any more ( remember when indy races were ot tv every weekend not any more ) . and now NASCAR has let toyota in where will it stop ? 5 maybe 10 years from now ( about how long it took for indy to fall off the CLIFF) when we stop watching because there's no more american drivers and no more american made cars on OUR NASCAR TRACKS . THIS IS THE ONLY TRUE AMERICAN RACING LEFT . I DON' T REMEMBER HEARING ANY THING ABOUT JUAN' S KIN RUNNING MOONSHINE !!!! ENOUGH SAID !!!!! STEVE S. FREAKING IS BURNING !!!!

Wow, lots of questions in this question. Well ~crack knuckles~ here we go...
Yes, he is a NASCAR driver because winning at any track on the NASCAR circuit, whether road course or oval, requires skill and the ability to out drive, out smart, or just plain be luckier than the other 42 professional athletes out there. However, I think in order for Juan Pablo to be taken seriously AS a NASCAR driver he WILL have to win multiple oval tracks including the two that use restrictor plates. Now, for the last question, is he better on road courses than Jeff Gordon. Well let's see, Gordon drives on two road courses per year, and Juan has come from a background in racing that allows him to spend a majority of his racing time on road courses. So is he better? Well, logic would say he should be; but he isn't in my opinion. I think if you put them in equal cars, Jeff would beat Montoya, unless of course Montoya wrecked him. Which that is the reason I believe Gordon is better. Juan seems to have a problem with winning without wrecking at least one person along the way. Gordon can win without wrecking anyone, which is just one of the reasons he will go down in history as one of the greatest drivers in history.

Sure. It looks like he's going to become a "Road Course Specialist" but that's okay. There's lots of Nascar drivers who specialize in road courses. I think he's good for the sport and makes the races more exciting because he doesn't seem to mind making other drivers mad.

Of course he can be called a Nascar driver. He won a Busch road race as well as Sonoma.
Oh, have you ever thought of taking a spelling course?

anyone driver who is under contract for a nascar team and races week in and week out is a nascar driver and according to your rules there are plenty of other "drivers" in nascar who havent won a race yet and are in there 3rd or fourth years. so honestly everyone needs to stop the jpm hate and join the JUANTOURAGE, rookie of the year baby wooo yeah!!!! and the gordon thing is yet to be determined we need at least two more seasons to determine that, but overall i believe hes the best road racer in nascar since he came from f1 which is one of the hardest forms of autoracing.

If they can call Jeff Green a NASCAR driver then they should be allowed to call Montoya a NASCAR driver.
