its true that its not actually the same as Jr's penalties, but they are similar, besides the being parked part.

I think the penalties were fair. Nascar said 'no messing with the Cot period' or face the consequences. Dale Jr was the first to 'mess' with the car and fined and docked 100 points and 6 race suspension for crew chief. Next came Jeff and Jimmie, and now they lost practice time and qualifying, along with fines and 100 docked points and 6 race suspension for the crew chiefs. Fair or not, at least Nascar is being consistent. The next team that decides to mess with the COT will probably face even more severe of a penalty. Remember, every team had been warned...

Its fair I guess, here's what Im bumming about tho.Aside from some fuel additive Waltrip had at Daytona none of the infractions merit anything other then maybe a fine.Nascar is trying to assert absolute control over the sport and in doing so have put themselves in a no win situation. The sport is now known for cheating more then racing. But look at the infractions none of which had ANY effect on the race.So Lil E has the wrong bracket change it fine his team 50k and be done with it.Fix the bumper on the #48 and #24 another 50k each and its over.Nascar in their attempt to show who's boss is giving the sport a black eye.Really Kennseth,Jr. Gordon and Johnsons team did nothing aggregious to merit Nascars reaction. Now the sport is more known for "cheating" then anything else, and thats to bad.

I think that the penalties for JR, Jimmie, and Jeff were all a bit harsh. But at least it's consistant. As long as everyone's dealt out the same penalty for the same crime, then it's fair to me.

fair, b/c 24 and 48 still ran good. taking away points didn't really change anything b/c jeff is still in the lead of the point standings and jimmie only dropped back like 2 or 3 spots. jr only had illegal bolts they tried to improve downforce. i think it's fair since they had to start at the back of the field too.

well they did it to dale jr so why not to gordon and johnson , what penalties work for one should work for all
yes gordon and johnson had another penality they didnt get to qualify and had to start in the back but everyone knows if u have a lead like johnson and gordon , and there able to complete laps and finish the race there not gonna loose to many points as long as they finish the race which they did there fore htey got points for passing cars , gordon even lead a lap therfore 5 bonus points ontop of it so he may of been docked 100 points but he made up atleast 15 of those points if not more

Harsh but consistent. Harshest penalty so far because they were benched for practice and qualifying, but NASCAR wants to be consistent with COT penalties, and that's what they were...for the most part. However, they were slapped the hardest for deserving it the least.

I understand that it sucks that they parked them all day Friday. But is probably only because nascar couldn't make up its mind as to what to do. Also they had to fix it, so there is a good amount of time too. I think that they should just line the cars up and race them. If they almost hit some one on pit road then ban them from the sport forever but to modify a car? c'mon let the guys race...

i don't think its fair but it was expected.
they got punished on friday by not being able to qualify.
junior only had the point and fine penalties.

to make it fair junior should have been parked the race for qualifying.

this is in no way the same punishment as junior got.

I do...you cannot show favorites or hand out different penalties for the same offense in this sport. You will have an angrey mob of fans if you do that kind of thing!

I don't know about being fair but I expected that would be the penalty.
