So with everything that Happened yesterday in Cali. Do you think that Gordon and Johson will get the samething deduction in points, Crew Chiefs being suspended and fined, as both Micheal Waltrip and Dale Jr have been this year??

I believe that they will be, it will probably be the same fine...

It's almost certain that Kanaus and LeTart will be suspended for several races. How effective is it really to "suspend" the crew chief. Seems about as inaffective as putting a driver on probation. With all the communication tools out there (cell phones, text messageing video over IP. The the crew chief is essentially at the track.

If they want to suspend the crew chief, then they should keep him from being able to perform his duties once the cars reach the track. Then he would not be able to perform his tasks as crew chief.

Give me some ideas on how you think suspension should be implemented.

why would Renault be so good last season and flop within such short time this season? what is involved in preparation for the race? It seems that a well tune car is so much more important than the driver. I am sure Louis Hamilton will not get the recognition he is enjoying if he is driving for Redbull.

This makes me mad, I was watching the Cup qualifying and with 30 minutes left to go, they switch over to a Craftsman Truck Setup show to do nothing but chit chat about stuff for the remainder of the 30 minutes. I don't find where this Setup show is more important to show on SPEED than the Cup Qualifying. The Truck racing wouldn't even start until after qualifying was over with anyway.

the big questions is why were the 25 and 5 not involved in the modification. Could it be that since Jeff and Jimmie are pretty much in the chase and points mean nothing to them are they the testing what they can get away with without risking the 25 and 5 who both really need the points

NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said both cars "failed the initial inspection ... as a result of body modifications found to be outside NASCAR tolerances. The front fender [of both cars] was modified outside of NASCAR regulations. They did not meet the C2 template inspection."

"When we presented the cars for inspection today [NASCAR] found our fenders were outside their limits in between the templates," said Doug Duchardt, Hendrick Motorsports' vice president of development. "The cars fit the templates. We thought we could work on the points between the templates and it became clear to us [in inspection] that we could not."

Gordon will have to come from the back to get his tenth road course win.....tough, but doable.

It seems any driver or car that breaks the rules is given a hefty fine and suspensions of crew chiefs. The only ones I don't see that happen to are Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Are they exempt from the rule book?

Living far on the outskirts of Dallas, TX in Texarkana.. We keep hearing the rumors of Jerry Jones looking at buying a TOP-NASCAR team..(Like Roush did, and Evernham is doing).. I've been hearing this rumor for a few years now really, but here in the last 2 months it's come up several times on the ESPN Radio Show and in the local Gazette. Has anyone outside of the TEXAS world heard this!?
