It seems any driver or car that breaks the rules is given a hefty fine and suspensions of crew chiefs. The only ones I don't see that happen to are Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson. Are they exempt from the rule book?

I don't see how you can say that because if i remember correctly at the begining of the 2006 year the crew chief for the #48 car got suppended for 4 races and also was fined. Granted the #48 crew over came that and won the Daytona 500. So not they are not exempt from the rules.

Nascar set the precedent they have to follow when they fined and penalized jr's team at darlington. They also suspended Tony Eury Jr. for 6 races. In my mind they have to have at least the same penalties if not more for the simple fact that the CoT was designed specifically to prevent what the Hendrick teams did. The infraction this time was also more obviously intentional, because thay have to make the bodies themselves whereas the Jr.s guys could simply have grabbed the wrong brackets.

In my mind we won't be seeing Steve Letarte or Chad Knaus until after Indy.

Either way it's gonna be fun watchin Jeff come from the back today.

come on people how lame can you be!!!!have you forgot DATONA 500 last year when the Chad knaus got suspended for illigal parts got points took away and fine the second largest fine in history.or how bout one of Gordons championship seasons i believe under Evernham they had illigal rims on car and got fined the $10000 for it and points.hell i would say everyone out there did something illigal at Infinion Raceway.but where the 24 and 48 are the top dogs in the sport the were watched more than anyone else.so their gonna save everyone else butts hey say one thing atleast they admitted they did it unlike JRs crewchief

by the way you cant be serios about parking the driver they dont do the work on the car the body guys do heck that about like benching a whole football team cause one guy got busted for enhancement drugs

Well I'm wondering if the just the opposite will happen. I think the penalties are getting more severe with each passing infraction. And 2 crew chiefs from the same organization? I think NASCAR is about to make a big impression on other teams.

Well look at the penalties for the #8 team for a wrong bracket mounted on the wing of that car. Well, I think it would be wrong to give the #24 and #48 teams anything less than what the #8 team got. Guess we will see mid week next week.

They most likely will. If they penalized Eury Jr. and Dale as heavily as they did, you can just about bet that the same, if not worse, will apply for Gordon and Johnson and their crew chiefs. However, their penalties, just like if it had been anybody else, will be announced next week.

When has Steve Letart cheated? Once earlier this year, something on their spring was damaged. But that was found to be a manufactur screw up and wasn't something that would have helped the car, in fact could have damaged it. So, Letart did not get a penalty. Other than that, I cannot think of a time the 24 car has had any problems until today.

Dale Jr's chew chief didn't get suspended till the beginning of the week following his infraction. I'm sure fines/suspensions/points deductions will be issued early next week...
