No - they don't have to race legal now - all this is just a cover-up to make Jr fans think Gordon and Johnson are receiving the same discipline as Jr is. In reality all Hendrick cars should have had the same violations yet Bush and Mears cars didn't have anything wrong with them. So as an outcome of the road course Mears or Bush will have the advantage. Johnson and Gordon are just the smoke screens. It's the old slide of hand routine. While they have your attention over here they are sliding something by with the other hand. Just another advantage of having a 4 car teem. They might sit out practise but they have 2 other cars to work setups on. Johnson and Gordon get a little rest time for the strenuous road course.
Now do you see how the legal system works? Legal? No way.
When Jr goes to Hendricks next year they'll use him for setup. Kyle Bush already stated that Jr would not have it made there and that Gordon and Johnson recieved star treatment and equipment. Vickers is an example when they asked him not to attendany more meetings when he was on the out. They didn't want him having knowledge of the underhanded s**t that was going on. It could have leeked out.
Hendricks organization will never have to race fair?

Wow how many topics are going on here? Whining about Gordon and Johnson failing inspection (when other drivers were caught the were forced to start at the back of the field which is what is happening to these two). Also the drivers really don't have a hand in modifications on their respective cars. It was Nascars decision to allow them to correct the offending modifications to be legal to race on Sunday. Besides the have enough provisionals (champion provisional, etc, etc) to race any how.
The Al Sharpton thing is nothing more than hot air when he speaks....have you seen do anything after the fact? Besides racism has nothing to do with this race you half wit.
George Bush is an idiot and more than likely could care less, besides hes more interested in destroying countries than he is about a simple race.

Everything on those cars were perfectly legal NASCAR didn't like the way the hendrick camp out smarted them. The templates matched the cars where they have to. The left front fenders are not part of the inspection process its one of those gray areas and nascar hates it when they get out smarted by the best two teams in the bisness. heres to hopen for a 1-2 hendrick finish on sunday. lets watch the hendrick cars of johnson and gordon make history and see one of them win from the back odds arent good because the deepest anyones won a race at sears point was 13th.

Have you ever watched a race before or is this your first?
Every time a car fails inspection, the teams get a chance to make them legal and go out and qualify them and race them.
NASCAR came down harder on these 2 than most teams, because they didn;t even let them qualify or practice. Please get some knowledge of the sport before asking another question.

Whoa, hold your horses, mate.
Let's see what they'll do in regards to punishment, and more notably, are they gonna be docked points for their violations. They came down HARD on Jr. after that wing modification at Dover(or was that Darlington), taking 100 driver and owner points away and making Tony Eury Jr. sit for six weeks...not to mention the $100K fine he got. If they don't dock points or suspend the crew chiefs or even fine them...then we'll ALL have the right to be outraged.

LMAO!
Yeah, but what they gonna get in punishment?
$10,000.00 fine and probation? "Now, don't be doing that".
or
$100,000.00 fine and crew chief suspened for 6 races?
Keep in mind, they already been restricted from practice. So, this tells me if there is anymore penalties it will be less than what Tony and JR got in terms of point reductions/fines and suspentions.

Well they actually modified nothing that is said not to be, until now. Although I think they will do something about it, Kind of hard to penalize something that isn't in the rule books? With the wing, it was something that was in print you will not modify, change this part. Oh well they can handle it, it's not even proven what they did would have actually worked/
