People write him off because they don't like him. The last I saw he had worked his way up to 2nd in the first practice speeds. I think Juan, Tony, Robby and Boris will all be in the thick of things by the end of the race. I wouldn't count out Ricky Rudd or Kurt Busch either. I think Juan wil easily be in the tp 5 and contend for the win.

You know, I don't like the guy and I don't think he's a safe driver but I do realize he has talent and if he can keep focused and not try to push too hard and do crazy stuff I do think he could be a serious contender. What he comes off as (to me anyway) is that he HAS to prove himself and he takes risks at the wrong time or tries to force his way through/around in settings where it just isn't going to work. Like I said, I don't like the guy, but I would like to see him get a good run just so he might settle down and use some common sense at the right times. He scares me with his recklessness.

I think he may be able to break into the top 5-10. With his poor starting spot, and the difficulty to pass on a road course, I sure doubt he can win. Nobody has won, who has started any further back than 13th. Montoya is starting 32nd. I actually picked him in 5th spot at the beginning of the week.

I know there are many many people out there that don't like Montoya but I think he is going to have to be taken seriously real soon.
The road course does probably seem like home to him but he has that heavy car. The heavy car will be the only question for him. And I think that is for all the tracks. Once he gets the hang of driving that stock car he'll probably do good and Pee off a bunch of people.
It won't be long we all will know.

I'm going to have to say no.
Just because he won a BUSCH race
doesnt mean he win a CUP race.
Besides, the guy had to wreck his own team mate to do it.
For this weekends race
he practiced poorly, and qualified even worse.
I just dont like him.

NO! But he is a serious contender to wreck at least himself or part of the field, just depends on the poor guys running close to him!

I think he'll do well and race well. He will be a contender but we will find out Sun if he wins. But it'll probably be one of his best Cup races this year.
