Both my wife and I like Jimmie Johnson the best. She met me in 2001 and that's when he ran his first few races in the cup series. She didn't really get into racing until the next season, his first year driving full time in the the Winston Cup Series. He impressed us from the get go and it worked out that he has been the best (statistically speaking) since then. He is a pretty decent guy and doesn't cause a lot of problems on or off the track. I really like his consistency and patience during races. It's fun to brag him up because he has the stats and championship to back it up. He's had just a little bad luck this year but is looking poised to make yet another solid run at the championship

Jimmie Johnson is a champion. I respect his talent and like him as a person and a driver.
It was surprising to see him do so well at road racing in Sonoma. He is a quick learner.
Jimmie Johnson is a more intelligent driver than most, like Kenseth, Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin, Dale Earnhardt Jr and just a few others. These types have patience and know when and when not to do or not do certain moves.
Opposite to these guys are talented drivers like Kyle Busch and Newman who do some stupid things that cost them dearly.
Johnson is talented and a very, very smart driver. This is why he is a champion.

Jimmie is a fair competetor, a clean Driver, and does an incredible amount of charity work; especially for the USO. Yeah, Jimmie Johnson helps out our Troops and their Families; and as a Veteran I think it's great.
Jimmie Johnson is th only Driver in NASCAR who not only donates money to the USO, but also time to the USO. He goes an fills care packages and spends times with Troops and their Families.
If you are a Veteran, you have to cheer for Jimmie Johnson, cause he cheers for us.

As a matter of fact I do like Jimmie Johnson but I have a response to the cheating that everyone says he does. He doesn't build the car, he races the car that's given to him so if anything hate the people that build the car. That being said, he's getting caught in the pre-race inspection so it's not like he has any advantage in the race.
As far as why I like him, well I have family that works for Lowe's and I like the way he races, he wouldn't even let the owner of his car pass him for the win a few weeks back. If you want the win then go out and earn it.
