I want to learn some self defence hand to hand techniques.

Anyone know any good sites on the net?

P.S Karate and Kung Fu etc, etc are NOT useable or practical in modern urban society...

Defensible techniques that are useable in Urban settings are good thanks :)

Im a 17 year old guy in Australia, love hunting, been shooting most of my life, joining the Army next year. So far ive made do with my .22 but im starting to need something bigger, I need something that can deliver enough punch 2 bring down something like a pig or a wild dog out at about 600 - 800 metres away.
Im aiming to spend between $600 - $1200.
I wanted to find out from someone experienced;
-what would be the best cartridge to use, thinking maybe .308 or .223 (how much do these generally cost, and how well do they perform)
- what rifle should I be looking for? ive heard good things about the remington 700, just wondering what peoples thoughts about that are, and how much its going to cost me.
- im also looking to get a synthetic tactical stock fitted for my gun, thinking about a "wild dog" tactical stock, just wondering if there are any other good ones out there, and if anyone knows whether i can buy the rifle prefitted with the stock i want, or will i have to add it later?

There is no question that this Patriot team is no joke—they are scary. I am a San Diego Charger fan and just watched my team be dismantled by the score of 38-14. The Patriots outplayed my Chargers and won fair and square. For this reason, I do not hate the Patriots, but rather have respect for the hard work they put in every game.

I have to say that Randy Moss deserves a lot of credit. The Oakland Raiders were fools to give him up to their Tuck Rule enemy. A lot of people doubted the guy and compared him to Latrell Sprewell and Terrell Owens, saying that he would be bad chemistry and cause trouble. People keep saying that the reason Randy Moss did nothing the last two years was that he was unmotivated. Well, they were wrong. The reason he did nothing was look at the lousy quarterbacks (Kerry Collins and Aaron Brooks) and coaches (Art Shell and Norm Turner) that he had to work with. And yes, I am very embarrassed to say that Norm Turner is the Charger coach.

Tennis is undergoing many different changes. They're making it mandatory for top players to play all the important events, and with new rules, players will face possible suspensions.

I find this decision really stupid, because they've already shortened the schedule for a longer offseason. This means players will have to play a lot of tennis in a shorter period of time. This could lead to a lot more injuries for top players, which will cause major tournaments to suffer.

Not only that, but suspending players for missing tournaments is absolutely stupid. The players should have a choice of the bigger tournaments they choose to play. It seems that right is being taken from them. I think the ATP & WTA cares more about making money than tending to the real needs of the players. Keep in mind, the players have to play long matches, then travel a far distance to play even more. They become mentally and physically worn out.

What's your take on this?

in other words he should keep his hands out of the cookie jar so the raiders can win some games instead of losing games.

I'm just starting to learn and will take 2 (1.5 hour) group classes a week and 1 (1-hour) private a week. I learn pretty quickly and study at home as well. I've trained in 7-animal style kung fu and tae kwon do, but Wing Chun is quite different so I'm not sure about the learning curve. Please, only Wing Chun practitioners. Thank you!

I'm a hugh 49er/NFL fan..but especially in the 80's! And in the 80's the 49ers were definitely America's team! Montana has been considered for some time now as "the best QB in the history of the game"! Mr. Cool! Had the brains and the athleticism as well as all the 4th quarter comeback wins!
I'll have to admit though, Payton Manning is really somethin else man! Today to me, there seems to be all these guys in their sport that seem to be the best in history! Has that ever happened before? Ok you have the NFL: Payton easily!, Golf: Tiger Woods!
MLB: A-Rod and Bonds! NBA:For me Steve Nash is the greatest passing guard of all time and he just makes The Suns so much better!! Mr. MVP! And of course there's La Bron or a few years ago Air Jordan! Jordan wasn't as all around as Bird or Magic but what a scoring machine he was! And of course lets not forget TENNIS: Roger Federer!! He's easily the greatest of all time and Johnny McEnroe a close 2nd! Any replies would be cool!
