They should be, AJ Smith fired Marty because he has a giant ego. Marty is a great coach, when he came to San Diego, they were an awful team. When he left they were one of the best teams in the league. It wasn't even his fault they lost that playoff game. Some guy intercepted Tom Brady and it would have ended the game but he decided to try to run the ball back and he fumbled the ball! Marty is a brilliant coach and I'm tired of all these haters.
To the person who said Turner has a good record in the post season: Turner has never even won one game as a head coach in the post season.

When you look at the history of coaches in the NFL, generally speaking a team can only co-exist with a coach with a taskmaster style of coaching for so long. Schottenheimer was that style of coach, as well as Parcels when he was the Cowboys, and generally when they left the team was much happier.

And truth be told, as much success as Schottenheimer has had in the regular season, the truth of the matter is he had a horrible track record when it came to post-season games. The Chargers were in an unique situation where they had a very talented team but no real playoff experience, so they opted to find themselves a coach that had that. Yes, Turner has had a back track record for the regular season in the last few years, but he has had a good track record for the post season, so I suspect management are hoping that the talent of the team would take them to the playoffs, and that Turner's coaching experience for the post season will carry them further in the playoffs then it did last year.

It was a wierd deal all the way around. Marty didn't want a long term deal and only had one year left on his contract. Both the OC and DC bolted for head coaching jobs. There is no way they were going to attract any decent assistants when everyone knew the Head Coach would only be there for a year and the new one would probably fire them.

Thus, the change, reluctantly, had to be made.

they'd desire to be high-quality. the subject returned would be no longer lots in attending to the playoffs, regardless of the harder time table. that's the place they seed in the playoffs. a million) i think of Cutler remains one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days away in Denver, yet while he turns it on and with at difficult KC Chiefs, getting a branch championship returned would be considered necessary for the Chargers. A wildcard team will possibly no longer in high-quality condition properly for the Chargers. 2) choosing up a experienced team and guidance properly in the well-known season is one factor, going head to head in the playoffs against the likes of Dungy, Bellichick, Billick, and Shanahan in the AFC would properly be a tall order. 3) skills, confident... guidance modifications affecting the well-known season, no... post season...???, i do no longer even think of Norv Turner can mess this up.
