With respect to their division........I think they can win it....but I am not picking them to do so
With respect to the Stanley Cup.........I think they can win it.........but I'm not expecting them to get past the first round in my prediction scenario

I think so. But it wont be easy. They filled all the positions that they needed to in the off-season. Got a veteran defenseman Sydor, and a fast talented winger Petr Sykora. With the return of Roberts and Recchi you know that they are looking for a cup in their last few years. They have such a young talented team but it all depends on how Fleury plays in the playoffs. This year he should see less shots.
The division will be tough. NJ will always be good with Brodeur between the pipes. Rangers added Gomez AND Drury so they will be a contender. The Flyers will be much better than last year. Even the Islanders might be ok.
The Pens struggled against teams last year that they should have beat like Florida and Tampa Bay. In the playoffs they will face some tough teams like Tampa, Ottawa, and maybe Carolina who all have playoff experience.
When they make the playoffs (which they will) they need not to rely on Malkin (who struggled near the end of the year, probably fatigue) and Crosby. Like the Senators who crushed them in the first round, they need to get some scoring from their 3-4 liners in the playoffs.
I like their chances anyway. They have the best player in the World and a lot of depth from Jordan Staal to Talbot. The best scoring defenseman in the league. I believe they have a good chance.

Division, yeah I think there is a good chance. Even though I am Penguins fan I'm not too sold on the Cup THIS year. I'm not going to say they can't, just I don't think they will.

I think the divsion will be a battle between the Pens and the Rangers, but there are at least 4 or 5 teams that I would say have better chances of winning the cup.

They got the Atlantic Division, but they won't make it to the Stanley Cup Finals.

honestly, id love to see it, and hope it can happen. i think they have a much better chance this season than last season. getting rid of Melichar was one of the best offseason moves theyve made in years, that guy was horrible! plus we added sykora, a guy who can still put the puck in the net. if he can do it on his own that well, imagine the possibilities of him on line with Crosby, or Malkin! Sydor on defense is a huge upgrade, and with Letang probably coming up this season, i think that should help out the defense a good bit! Mix those 2 with Whiteny (who is showing that he will become one of the leagues top defensemen), Eaton (who blocks shots like nobody else), and Gonchar (who is still doing ok for us), and that shows how solid our D actually is! Fleury is still maturing, and if he can build off of last years phenominal performance, i think he'll keep them in the games when the offense is struggling. Staal proved why he belongs last season. with the long reach and ability to score shorthanded, hes going to be a beast on the PK this season!
honestly, id love to see them win it, but regardless its gonna be a good season!

i'd say they have a really good chance of it.....they did alright last season and have a great team,i think their gonna blow people away this year!!.......and crosby seems to keep getting better and better ,even though he was great from the start, .....i can't believe he's only 20 years old!!! (personally i hope calgary gets the cup this year.....they were so close a couple years back ) ..........the season will be starting soon (can't wait!!!!)...........so we'll find out!!!!!!!
