As for me I cant wait. It looks fantastic, and lets face it, Yankee Stadium may be the most historic stadium in baseball but its old. It doesnt have some of the amenities that other ballparks have.

In my opinion, the cycle is one of the hardest things to accomplish in MLB. I wonder how many times it has actually been accomplished by one player and if anyone of those players has accomplished this feat more than once.

I don't think independent teams should be eligible for the BCS. They have an unfair advantage because there schedule can be as hard, or as easy as the want it to be.

Why are all these players retiring while they're still great, and in Niedermayer's case in their prime??? I can understand Foppa not wanting to be on and off the IR, but look at some of these guys that are thinking about retiring. Niedermayer playoff MVP and tied for first in points by a D-man. Selanne third overall in goals this past season. Why do these guys want to quit? When did players become so obsessed with the ego that surrounds their "legacy" that they want to give up on what they love. Look at Chelios he's old yeah, but he loves hockey more than he loves him self so he's staying with it as long as they'll let him. I sincerely hope that players are remembered for they're skill while they were in their prime, their sportsmanship, and their respect for the game, not by what the last thing they ever did. Quitting while you’re ahead is great in poker, but this is hockey.

Apparantly Jacques Villeneuve is heading to NASCAR and he is going to test a truck on Monday. His father was possibly the most gifted driver of all time before he was so cruelly taken away from us.

But Jacques was once an okay driver but is now nothing but a has been. He was an exceptional rookie and he should have won his first race but for an oil pressure leak. He won the championship in 1997 in the Williams which was by far the best car on the grid but Schumacher in the vastly inferior Ferrari pushed him all the way to the last race. He then went on an ego trip and joined BAR thinking they could win their first f1 race and hasnt won anything since 1997. I think 3rd is his best finish. He got sacked by them eventually and came back to Renault who didnt resign him and he was beaten by a succession of decidedly average drivers and BMW dropped him mid way through last year for a rookie(who went on to finish 3rd in his 3rd race after Villeneuve could only manage 6th all season).

Does anyone have thoughts on why so many NHL players are signing contracts with teams in Europe, ect. this offseason? Aside from the lockout, I don't remember seeing this many players choose to play overseas before.
