MAVS - no further explanation necessary!
Terry has an edge over west now, but is aging and west is growing, so that will change in time.
Harris over West.

It is too early to put the Celtics at the same level as the Mavs. At that level you never know how great players will come together as a team and if they will be winners or losers. The Mavs have an established track record over the past few years and school is still out on the Celtics. I also believe Jason Terry is better than Harris or West.

As of right now, the Mavs have to be considered better. The Mavs are a proven championship contender in a superior conference. The Celtics are merely a bunch of top players that potentially can amount to a contender in an inferior conference. Team USA had all kinds of top players a few years back and didnt they lose to a starless Argentina team? Star power does not equal greatness. Jason terry is better and west and harris is probably a toss up.

I agree with most of what the Big E has to say. I do differ though on his assessment of Dallas and Phoenix as teams that should be able to beat San Antonio in the playoffs. Have to say though that there is evidence that they can one this Dallas team advanced just two years ago to the finals and Amare gives a good effort on defense in the post, but he so far lacks the wisdom to make his effort payoff in the late rounds of the playoffs, if he gets some help from a true center or matures cognitively that will change.
After 20-30 games we should see what Boston is all about barring injuries, just the same any team with Garnett and go to guys like Pierce and Allen only need to squeak into the playoffs, get healthy and get hot to take it all. I still do not expect them to win the championship or even to get by the Cavs this year, or for the Mavs to get by the Spurs.
Terry is better than Harris or West but will not improve much anymore, Harris is better than West but will probably be at his best as a role player, West has a greater upside but is still to eratic. If I were a GM I would take West for the upside but Terry will probably be better than West for one more year.

Right now before any games have been played I would say the Mav's. People don't realize that they are going to learn from last years early playoff exit. They were by far the best NBA team last year & would have easily beat San Antonio to get to the finals & play the Cav's. They will comeback on fire this year & the Western Confernce finals will be Dallas & Phoenix. The Celtics might wreckshop in the East but the West is better & Dallas went to the finals two years ago & wrecked shop in the West last year but just took Golden State for granted & it cost them. Dallas is better right now until the Celtics play & we can see if they can make all that talent play together & if Ray Allen & Paul Pierce can play an entire season cause you know KG will give everything he has.

The mavs are much better. The mavs have Harris, terry, nowitzki, and josh Howard. The Celtics have washed up Kevin Garnette, Ray Allen, and Paul pierce. That's 3 players big whoop!!! Jason terry is better. Devin Harris is better. Delonte west has not done enough to be better then those players.

The Mavs are currently better than the Celtics, but Jason Terry is better than Delonte West. West and Harris are about even, but if I had to choose I'd choose Delonte West.
Just a note: Delonte West is now a Supersonic, not a Celtic.

Come on people the Celtics will be much improved, but they are nowhere near the Mavs...remember this is a team game, and the Mavs have played together longer and that will show on the court. As for the Delonte question, I would take both Mavs over him, especially Devin Harris....look out for him once he is allowed to be more assertive in the offense, saw him play many times in Madison, kid is a baller.

Theoretically I say Celtics would be better. Simply because they have more all stars and honestly, KG can take on Dirk anytime.
But when it comes to real life, it's hard to say because Mavs are a very deep and experience team. Celtics will definitely still need time to cope with each other before becoming a real contender in the East.
Both PG from Mavs are better than West simply because West is still so rookie.

Since the Mavs are the more complete team Iam saying the Mavs and both Terry and Harris are better than West.
