You could argue his numbers weren't Brodeur- or Roy-like, but that is not reflective of what he was able to accomplish on the ice:

Won the Vezina and Calder trophies his rookie year, at age 19
Won the Jennings Trophy
Winningest US-born NHL goaltender
Olympic medalist
2 Stanley Cups

I believe he deserves the nod, he was passed over last year and this year (albeit this year's class was one of the toughest to beat). He knew how to win.

If you were in the stands and caught the 500 homerun ball of Frank Thomas and he asked for you to come and see him after the game and offered to autograph another ball, a game jersey, game glove, and a game bat in exchange for the homerun ball, would you do it? Honest answers only would be appreciated.

Since Chris' alleged anabolic steroid use is being blamed for these "roid rage" murders and his suicide, will MLB come down even harder on the alleged users within the sport? I know that Barry has not "tested positive". However, he is highly suspect. I'm wondering about Giambi, Lawton, Mota, et al.

it's pretty amazing how he seems to forget that he made the last out of the 1968 World Series by popping out to Bill Freehan, hence giving The Tigers the World Series Championship (after being down 3 games to 1).

Last summer I ran everyday, alone, and I loved it.

I sort of fell off the wagon this year. I could say it's because i had a busy year at school but that's really a bad exscuse.

Anyway, I'm going out running now and my endurance.. wow it's down to 12 minutes. Horrid I know. I am watchign my pace though, I'm famous for going out too fast.
Running has always been a mental game for me but last summer I was pounding the pavement and loving it. Now it's blah.

Basically I have the initiative, I'm training for university tryouts, but I absolutely dread running now!! It used to be fun, it's not anymore.

How do you pick yourself up from a rut like this? And how do you watch your pace?
I avoid running with groups at all costs, I'm to competitive and it turns to a race and me getting frustrated.

The question assumes you're not in the middle of the ocean, of course. Assume you're on a lake or within view of a shoreline.

The Phoenix Suins drafted both Alando Tucker and D.J. Strawberry. Do you think these picks will do their job in Pheonix?

Before you all abuse me, listen to my argument. I'm not talking about Gretzky's records being shattered or anything. Gretzky played in a very-offense oriented era, without the goalies having huge pads and goalie coaches and the coaches were less focussed on preaching a system and more on players just trying their best. So, it is unrealistic to imagine a player staying healthy and producing big numbers for 20 years to break Gretzky's career records.

However, I want to focus more on the impact Gretzky had on the game during his era. He could dominate games at will. If Crosby continues to develop at a high pace, I can see him reach a point where he will be able to completely control a game, despite what the opposition does to counter. Another young kid by the name of John Tavares is already drawing comparisons to Wayne. My point is people debate forever about who the best forward is-Mario, Gordie, Sidney (if he reaches the next level), but when it comes to d-men, this is only 1 answer.
