I've asked questions in yahoo answer and most Christian says the reason "some" of them hate gay ppl are because we CHOOSE to be gay?. If you're straight can you "choose" to be gay?, when you're born can you choose to be male or female?. Forgive me but I can't seem to remember I "choose" to be what I want when I'm born.

For straight people, imagine gay is the "norm" in this world, can you choose to be gay?? can you turn gay if you're threatened?

After discovering that the claim that Mary was a virgin when giving birth to Jesus was just a mistranslation for the Hebrew word for "young woman", do you still believe in the virgin birth? If so, who's authority supersedes the bible and tells you that the virgin birth is true, when the bible says nothing about a virgin birth (in its original tongue of course).

yaoi is, for those who dont know, a japanese manga/anime term for a subgenre of shoujo (manga/anime targetted at girls). its guy-on-guy homosexual relationships drawn and written.depending on what im reading, it can be just kissing and then full blown explicant scenes/pictures...yeah...
so anyway, i know that homosexuals are against God and i also know that pre-marital sex is against God, but is reading about and looking at that kinda stuff wrong? like spiritually immoral? if you could give me some bible verses or references id appreciate that very much.
as always,g'bye!

Luke 16:18

So--a divorced woman is supposed to wait around until doomsday, that's all she gets for putting up with the jerk her ditched her?

What about the guy who is saintly enough to marry a woman with emotional baggage and perhaps a ready-made family--is he actually doing something that conflicts with the word of God?

The only things that still leave me stumped is that they say the universe goes on forever. How in the hell is that possible when everything we know has a beginning and an end? And if thats possible, then whose to say there aren't other dimensions of existence?

Where are the questions on R&S that are not the "Why do theists do this or that?" or "Why are they (_____) me?"

Where are the questions from atheists asking "why of themselves?"or "Why do some atheists do this or that?"

So is it always why of Christians, Jews, Muslim, and Pagans?

What should one do when a magic becomes too great for one to handle? When the stem of the magic is natural, but it spirals into nothing but hate and destruction, but is too in-routed to a person - to a living being - to ever destroy?

I asked a question to Christians about why they thought they got hostility from Atheists (yes, I know hostility works both ways!).

One of the answers I got was very good and informative but in it they mentioned that Christians were perceived as arrogant but weren't....fair enough, but they went on to say that they had pity for those that didn't understand them.

For me, I have seen this word a few times, although I voted the answer as my favourite, I did say that I thought the word 'pity' was the wrong one to use, it is arrogant to pity someone because they don't believe in what you believe in.

So my question; do Christians actually pity atheists?

Reasking this now that it's a more reasonable hour (at least on the U.S. east coast).

An AD&D module I once played described a scenario where various gods were cast down to earth in the form of their various avatars to do their bidding.

Each avatar had various special godlike powers specific to its realm of control or dominion over their... dominion.

What would yours be like?

Are there any verses in the Bible about straightening your hair and the like?

Did any of you see the program "Jesus Camp" on A&E last night? Very scarey; frightening. It reminded me of Hitler's Youth Camps in Nazi Germany during the 1930' & 40's....of course it was apparent these Jesus camps are a product of the Cristian/Republican political machine that has been going on since the Reagan/Falwell political marriage in 1980.Did any of you think is blantant child abuse by their very own parents? What can be done about it to save these poor children?

This is one of the questions I had when I was a Christain that has never been answered for me.
I tried to make it make sense on my own with the following arguements.
The devil. That was my first thought. But then I realised that the bibles says the Devil was cast out of heaven by God. This would incate that the Gods word is more powerful then that of the devil because Gods word itself is all powerful. The devil could have no effect on it.
My next thought was that it was free will. This assumption worked fine because it is the truth we all have free will. But then I thought that reguardless of free will infallible is infallible and infallible couldn't possibly be found to be fallible.

Could someone please clarify this for me?
Thanking you all in advance.

Peace and Good Food.

Jesus has already sacrificed himself for your sins. Now it's up to you to accept that sacrifice.

But who decides if you're going to get saved: God or you?

- She is having a hard time with her family and friends (muslim) accepting her choice.
