We are all capable of this if we become conscious of it. If you learn to interpret the colors, you can tell what people are thinking and feeling.

Then why don't they ask "If pigs descended from fish, why are there still fish?"?

I've never heard them ask that, and so I can only infer they have not heard of evolution in the paleozoic era.

(Of course we descended from fish too, but that's not the issue.)

Question: Does anybody know what church folks know or think about science?

Could witnessing be an invasion of privacy?
Wouldn't it be better to witness to others only if they ask why you have this hope in you?
Should we allow others pressure us into witnessing if we feel that we are not ready for that?
Isn't it best to just learn to grow in the Lord and allow Him to do everything?
I never ask anyone to my church unless it is one of my kids teen ager friends, only with my kids permission of course.
Am I right, what do you think?

If Christ was crucified for claiming to have the authority to forgive sins, which is considered Blasphemy, then how was it established that mortal Catholic Priests have the authority to do so?

Thanks my Catholic friends, I am not a "hater" just looking for clarification on these issues.

If Jesus was appointed/chosen as Savior since the beginning and before the world began, why does Isaiah 43:11 say "I, I am the LORD, and besides me there is no savior"?

John 1:1-2 in your NWT says "1 In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. 2 This one was in [the] beginning with God."

If Jesus was the Word, and he was WITH god IN THE BEGINNING and he was "a god", then why does Deuteronomy 32:39 say "SEE now that I—I am he
And there are no gods together with me"?

For decades, a fossil skull discovered in Piltdown, England, was hailed as the missing link between apes and humans. Entire careers were built on its authenticity. Then in 1953, the awful truth came out: "Piltdown Man" was a fake! But who done it? In "The Boldest Hoax," NOVA gets to the bottom of the greatest scientific hoodwinking of all time.

It all started in the early 1900s, when a laborer digging near the village of Piltdown in southern England reportedly found a strange piece of skull that he passed on to Charles Dawson, a local amateur archeologist. Dawson obtained more fossils from the site and, believing they were the remains of a very ancient human, approached Sir Arthur Smith Woodward, Keeper of Geology at the Natural History Museum. In December 1912, the two jointly presented the reconstructed skull to the public as humankind's earliest ancestor.

Forty years later, new scientific tests showed that Piltdown Man was a forgery...

Do you get hate mail from other Christians?

Just curious.

Father K once wrote that the only hate mail he gets is from Christians.

Atheists complain about religious people being intolerant and closed minded. That they (religious) don't accept nor respect others' beliefs and ideas. That they (religious) try to convince atheists that they are wrong and that they have to find God.
But I've found that many atheists do exactly the same: they try to attack other people because their beliefs and they reject any type of approach. Where is the balance? Where is the open mindness and the freedom we adhere to?

how many christians here believe the rapture will occur in their lifetime? how old are you? the second question is not a maturity test, but more of a curiosity to figure how much longer it will be for those who believe.

Or are such conversions worthless?

Ok, I know this is REALLY, REALLY off-topic and “off-section”, but since I think the people here rock- I’m asking it on here anyway! :-)

So, here in St. Petersburg Russia it is already January 1st, 2008. I can foresee myself not getting any sleep at all tonight, seeing the whole hostel is either partying and/or drunk, so I guess I’ll spend the night here on Y!A.

Oh-the question! How much longer till you guys “catch up”???

Come to think of it- I last ate last year! I’ll be raiding the fridge while I wait for your answers. ;-)
