how many christians here believe the rapture will occur in their lifetime? how old are you? the second question is not a maturity test, but more of a curiosity to figure how much longer it will be for those who believe.

I am. I don't believe in the rapture. Have you looked into the history of that theory? Oh well, I am as old as my twin sister and consider myself quite mature.

What about that line about Jesus saying he would return during the lifetime of the apostles?

I like the answer about 2011 that is being left on every question like some unwanted animal droppings on your new carpet. Can we just go ahead and skip ahead so we don't have to get that same posting all the time? The sooner the better as long as we don't have to keep looking at that post over and over.

So, one more thing, when you get raptured can I have your car?

The rapture is not a biblically sound belief. If you've never done so, you need to google Margaret McDonald to see where this errant belief was born. Darby was responsible for spreading this lie, and many will be destroyed because of it.

There will be no pre-tribulation rapture, and you will be very hard pressed to prove any "7 year" period of tribulation. Modern day prophecy teachers are trash and should not be listened to. The 70 weeks of Daniel were ALL finished by Yeshua. There isn't some "special" 70th week hanging out to be fulfilled in the future in some "twilight zone" type of scenario. God doesn't work that way.

The church needs to grow up.

I do not believe the "RAPTURE" will occur during anyone's lifetime. I am 71 til March 14. The Bible does not mention "Rapture". I believe the Bible and not what mankind adds to it because it was breathed by God and written down by man.

In 1948 the nation of Israel was formed in one day. No other nation has ever done that. From that point forward, that generation should not pass away without Christ's return. It is my understanding a generation is approx. 100 years.

I personally am 40.

I dont have the answer to your question, nor do I really want to answer... but my thing is what is going to happen to religion when the world doesnt come to an end in 2011... I think that many people will definelty have to take second look at a lot of things that they believe in... I have found it important to live today the best that you can and do not take for granite tomorrow... it may not come!!

Me, the Lord spoke to me over 10 years ago and said that I would not die before He returned for His church.

I will be translated in mid-air.

Everyone here knows I am 70 years old.

by Wonderful and Fearfuly made! ..... A generation is three score and ten, which is 70 years. However I am not sure you can hang onto that 70 years. I take that passage to mean that not all who were alive in 1948 will die before He returns. Some people live to their 90s and some live over 100.

mesquiteskeetr.... Do you believe that in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye at the trumpet the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we whall all be changed to meet the Lord in the air? Hey, are you a texas skeeter?

babbatheist..... Jesus does not say His disciples would still be alive when He returned, He said that when the fig tree began to bloom, not a generation shall pass unil He returns. You would not want my car.

I'm 49.5 years old and I don't expect the rapture to be during my lifetime. Yet, I am ready. NO MAN knows the hour or the time when it will occur.
