In thje Old Testament, what did the Ark contain?
1) The Word of God in stone tablets
2) The Manna; bread from God
3) Aarons rod, symbol of the High Priesthood

In the New Testament, what did the Blessed Virgin carry within her?
1) The Word of God made flesh
2) The Manna which came from heaven (John 6)
3) The True High Priest

This is why we call Mary the "Ark of the New Covenant", and this is based on an interpretive principal called "Typology". Learn how to read the Old Testament in a typological manner, and you will learn how to interpret the Scriptures as the first Christains did, and you will how all of Catholic theology is based on the interpretive principals used by the apostles.

I think you should be able to sue your employer for having a hostile work environment, when employees walk around wishing each other "Merry Christmas." Not everyone is Christian, so it is very Politically Incorrect to randomly wish everyone a "Merry Christmas." It's totally unprofessional as well.....

For example if you think Pam Anderson is very attractive, would that mean you are lusting after her? And you if you are lusting wouldn't that be a sin?

He is Jewish
I am not

I would be changing my lifestyle, essentially...
eating foods I never ate
Giving up food Ive always eaten

I would be learning a new language
Learning new religious duties like
resting on the sabbath

---------------------------

I love this man so very very much
and I want to spend the rest of my life with him

I mean....its a big big thing to convert
i want to convert on his behalf but also I want to convert for the sake of building a relationship with God as well

If you are christian, athiest, jewish, catholic, agnostic, etc...

I just ask you to not attack and to offer feasible advice can take into consideration

If i could advise myself I would say...

Know what youd be giving up
and be sure that essentially he would do the same for you
as far as sacrificing a part of yourself...

What would YOU advise? I'm listening...

It is generally believed that Jesus was born into a poor family. I thing that the reason people believe this is because he was rapped in swaddling cloths, but swaddling was a custom for a child that was born to be a king. It was a form of the salt covenant. The strips of cloth were soaked in salt water, and it was a dedication service that the child was to be raised to be true to his word.

A carpenter wasn't exactly the trade of a poor man either.

The wise men are depicted as only three men with very small gifts, but caravans traveled in groups many times of hundreds, and the gifts given to honor a king were not small. After the visit of the wise men, I believe that he was quite wealthy.

What says you?

Okay, okay, I know that in many religions there are certain texts, but anyone can write a text - I could write a version of The Holy Bible (I wouldn't want to, and I wont, but I could). So other than religious manuscripts, what proof do you have that God, Jesus, or any other religious figure existed?

"The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you"

Fellow Christians we need both the anointing(The Holy Spirit Shall come upon you) and the power of God (and the power of the most high shall overshadow you) to accomplish God's will in our lifes.

Agree....?????

This question is for Pagans, Wiccans, Druids, Asatru, etc.

Have you ever experienced religious ecstasy or possession during a ritual? Have you ever seen a priestess "Draw Down the Moon," and actually become the Goddess -- her voice and mannerisms change, she speaks with a wisdom and knowledge that she would otherwise not possess, and she has little or no memory of the experience afterward? Have you ever danced around a bonfire until you lost all sense of self? Have you ever enflamed your heart with prayer, and invoked so passionately that you and your God became One? Ever experience spontaneous chanting, or what Pentecostal Christians might call "Speaking in Tongues?"

What was the experience like? Was it a positive experience? Was it something that just happened, or something you set out to achieve? Was it embraced and celebrated by the other participants, or was it something that some of them didn't get? How central to your practice and spirituality are these experiences?

For Jews just read Job.

Job 28:28. and unto man he said, behold the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom(Christians turn to romans 3:18 read it then turn back) and to DEPART from EVIL is UNDERSTANDING.(Christians turn to Romans 3:11)

even though I do believe Romans 3:10-18 is in the old testement...but I have no referance right now.

I always say that only God decides and many times I see people get thumbs down when they say something along the same line.
I just read 1 Timothy 4:10
"I mean that the point of all our toiling and battling is that we have put our trust in the living God and he is the Saviour of the whole human race but particularly of all believers."

What do you think?

Note: I would really appreciate serious and respectful answers.

Some Protestants see suffering as God's punishment of sinful people or the world as a whole. Others see such suffering as a way a loving God tests the faith and strength of survivors.
