What actual solid proof is available to point to a real existence of God or Jesus?

Okay, okay, I know that in many religions there are certain texts, but anyone can write a text - I could write a version of The Holy Bible (I wouldn't want to, and I wont, but I could). So other than religious manuscripts, what proof do you have that God, Jesus, or any other religious figure existed?

There is some evidence from Josephus and Tacitus (sp?) that Jesus existed as a person...it also seems that claiming JC never existed would have been a good way to discredit the Xian religion from the very beginning, but it was not an argument used.

That doesn't mean he was God incarnate, however. As to that and the existence of a deity at all, the "evidence" is not quantifiable, and is subjective according to each individual's experience and personality. So, there is no "proof" that I see--only personal intuitions and choices.
