Of 57 Islamic countries in the world, 7 have a law condemning to death anyone who leaves the faith. And Pakistan is currently considering adopting the same legislation. Why???

In the UK, there are currently several young women hiding after their lives have been threatened because they left Islam. Again, why, can anyone explain the logic?

In a study conducted by think tank Exchange Policy, 36% of British Muslims believe that those leaving Islam should be killed.

Please, can someone tell me how this is reconciled with what Muslims keep telling me about Islam being 'the religion of peace'?

For example, many people in the former Soviet Union were brought up believing that Communism was the best answer. They devoted their lives to it.

When the inevitable crept in (a failed economy, innate corruption) they were suddenly forced to realize that all that they believed in was false.

Do you think so many had such a hard time with this because they did not want to admit to having wasted their lives?

Were they offended that others were telling them this?

Can you relate this question to anything else that may be slowly be happening today?

Is there any kind way to tell people that all they have lived for their whole lives is false?

Cause or effect?

Because I think no matter what side of the issue you're on, you probably agree with the (unscientific) observation that there are more crazies here than in other sections.

In an uncomplimentary sense, evolution would have you exist as a mere link in an endless chain, with bigger and more glorious apes yet to rise from the seed of your seed of your seed, ad infinitum.
In this context, the best life you can hope for here is to live again, and a little better, through them, as expressed by the aphorism: "Your children are your future." But if we shall one day be they, who are we now?
We can have no special human identity as the "image and likeness of God'" for the spirit of ancient monkeys is perpetuating itself in us. How preposterous, utterly ridiculous and if you don't mind me saying outrightly stupid !

Do you still believe in it, after all that's been said ?
What say you all?

the way people are always overhyping heaven like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread makes me think of all the other things in my life that have been promised to be great and then never live up to the hype. we've all had experiences like this. think about maybe a movie you've seen that was built up to be the greatest movie to ever come out of hollywood, then you go watch it and it sucks. then there are things which we're told totally suck, you go and check it out and it turns out a lot better than some people gave it credit for being. these are things which were overhyped by living people who experienced them first hand, and it happens all the time. so why should i think heaven and hell are any different? first off, no living person has seen heaven or hell, so nobody can really make a fair assessment of either if either exists. secondly, why, if based on past overhypings should i trust anyone's opinion but my own?

Hi, my boyfriend really wants to go further (handjob) in the relationship but I don't know if it's a sin, because it's not intercourse, and it is not leading to intercourse, because my boyfriend does not have intentions on having sex with me, and even if he did, I have a firm stand on abstinence.

So the question is, is mutual masterbation a sin?

Thanks

Nowhere in the Bible does it state that it is to be taken literally, and we all know that historically, Abrahamic religions have taken creative liberty in their interpretations of Judaic scripture.

Why do some theists believe that evolution is not reconcilable to their god's plan for creation (after all, "creation" doesn't necessarily imply "instantaneous")?

Consider this
Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me to my knees failed
What if all these fantasies come flailing around
Now I've said too much.

What say you now, evolutionists?

Ok, The human DNA contains more organized information than the 'Encyclopedia Britannica'. If the full text of the encyclopedia were to arrive in computer code from outer space, most people would regard this as proof of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. But when seen in nature, it is explained as the workings of random force.

Why is that?

There are countless questions posed on here that suggest that we only have morals because of "god" or the bible and that we just couldn't possibly have just come up with them all on our little own. Do you find that a very sad Indictment on them more then anything else? Really tragic don't you think?

Let us look at man's origin from a more enlightened point of view, one that observes the evolutionary process of having
been triggered by a falling away from a higher order of existence ?
If that is the case, we might expect a devolutionary process to claim us, a sort of "devolving" evolution of earthly compensations, accompanied by inner and outer conflict. The only way we would know how to treat one another would be as animals, rather than as people . As a result, we would come to need some kind of order, and it would have to be imposed on us from the outside, right ?
In other words, we would come to need the kind of law (the law written in our heart - the true religion really) that we left behind when we fell from the Inner Ground of Reality.

Now, if that be the case, where would you think the answer should logically come - from fallen men or The One Who Create Us ?

Who knows better?

Evolutionist's father or the creature's Father-God?

Do we judge who God is, or who people think He is based on the many people claiming to do His work? Is it because of the selfish desires and the condescending behavior of so many that claim to be acting in God's name that people draw their conclusion on who God must be? Is this part of the reason people are turned off to the idea of God or claim that He doesn't exist?
