When you think Muslim...do you think "Crazy person who is going to kill me"?

When you think Catholic...do you think "Mary worshipper"?

When you think Pentecostal...do you think "Holy roller"?

When you think Mormon...do you think "Polygamist"?

When you think Wicca...do you think "Devil worshipping witch"?

Just think for a second. If you have said yes to any of these, do you realize you're just as bad as teens in a highschool with their "cliques"? We all want the same thing. Peace. Why can't you just put your differences beside you and realize that most likely what you think of others is wrong?

Many Christians write off science because they misunderstand the definition of the word "theory." Because things in science are called this they completely write off all of the evidence.

However, they are perfectly happy to believe every word of an ancient book is absolute truth simply because of the title and main characters.

Why is their standard of evidence so skewed?

The creation theory sais that the world was made in 6 days, but who made the counting? The man was only created in the 6'th day so he could not have counted. Isn't it possible that the creation theory is not refering 6 days as we know them now, but maybe 6 stages? That would be a lot more believable, it would make a little sense

lets just say we'r in 2008 untill jews attack mecca n saudi arabia might take 20 years then jews take over the world n chipped everbody's butt with chipped ID's then rule the world
that would take around 20 years too. leave us with 2030
then christians+muslims have a war against jews maybe will take another ten years so so far its 2040 then mahdi comes lets say another ten years. and fake massih comes and rules 40 years so its around 2100 then jesus comes may take around 20 years. then heck before we know its 2200
i think its somewhere between 2200 and 2300
in other words.
DONT EVEN BOTHER BRING GRAND KIDS !!!!!!
save money for urself n have fun
i think it'd much cooler if its on 2222 years kinda easy to remember when we'r in heaven chating about it right ? :P lol

"We all have the same goal in common, which is peace; the means by which we attempt to gain this goal however is what makes us different."

Do you agree with this statement, that we all want peace, but our different views are what is stopping it from happening?

2007-12-13 02:17:20 · 20 answers · asked by Anonymous

Give your "proof" for you view. eg. I think God doesn't exist. I think the idea ofGod was created by man from our fear of the unknown after death. Who's to say our god exists, and all other religion's Gods don't??

I was just hoping to get all of your thoughts on some of the recent comments made by Camille Paglia (a regular pundit on Salon.com - feminist/atheist/literary critic).

I argued that secular humanism has failed, that the avant-garde is dead, and that liberals must start acknowledging the impoverished culture that my 1960s generation has left to the young. Atheism alone is a rotting corpse. I substitute art and nature for God -- the grandeur of man and the vast mystery of the universe.

The young, who are masters of ever-evolving personal technology, are besieged by the siren call of materialism. In this climate, it is selfish and shortsighted for liberals to automatically define religion as a social problem that needs suppression or eradication. Without spirituality in some form, people will anesthetize themselves with drink or drugs -- including the tranquilizers that seem near universal among the status-addled professional class of the Northeastern elite.

Interesting question. You just may have to in the near
future..... The book of Revelations is a stunning collection,
of future events, and about what is happening right now,
in the world. Now how is that so ? It is not like this book
was written yesterday ? I am challenging all Atheists to
listen to John Hagee, and Jack Van Impe, 2 prophetic
ministers. They will no doubt, blow your mind. Look
them up, when you have a chance. And check your
local listings for the next programs....... Now back to
the question ? Would you believe God if you saw him ?
The rapture could happen tomorrow, you never know.
How would you see the world, if a major Biblical event
took place before your very eyes. Or an angel saved
you from getting hit by a car ? Would you become a
believer then ? Best answer wins. ~~~

There was a time before (or lack there of because time essentially didnt exist) but we all know there was a big bang, no matter how far you go back to the concept of energy, the concept of matter, the concept of everything as you know...there was a beginning to all this. It has not existed forever, anything in this universe lives by the laws of it and by all researchable accounts, no matter of infinities exist (until the greatest astrophysicist says otherwise I will believe him over some person on yahoo answers) and the big bang was the beginning of all existance...as "WE" know it.

So, you think the more we find out about science the more we find God obsolete. But God doesnt live by the same laws of this universe. You use your science as if God lives by the same standard of our universal reality?Just because this universe cant be infinitedoesntmeanGod cant. God isnt of this universenor does itfollow its same standards. Life has no meaning without a superior being,d u not agree?

i don't get offended unless i know for certain someone is trying to be offensive. i am tired of getting all these uber-Christian greeting cards from my folks year after year...they know i don't believe what they do, yet each year they ramp up the religiosity of their mail. i am dead serious, every year they get me "worship Jesus" cards...so i intend to give cards intended to equally annoy this year.

When you call the cable company, they generally give you a window of 8a-5p of their arrival. So, you have to sit around your house and wait, often missing a day of work (not that that is a bad thing), and most people are frustrated by the fact that the cable company can't narrow it down.

Christians state that Jesus is returning "soon". He's been returning "soon" for 2000 years.

One day....versus 2000 years. Think about it.

that a Muslim could not explain?

2007-12-13 01:55:44 · 20 answers · asked by Eleventy 6

HE SPEAKS IN SILENCE

When in the stillness I seek Him,
When out of utter despair

I come to the blessing of solace
In the peace and comfort of prayer,

I hear no shout from the heavens,
No sign nor vision I see

Save only this soft admonition:
"My child, come thou unto Me."

When in the twilight beguiling
My heart from its sickness and care,

His presence still safely infolds me,
Though no voice stirs on the air;

Then out of infinite silence,
Bringing newness of life to my soul,

Comes the glory of this revelation:
"Child, thou art healed and made whole."
