Do you think it's ok to boycott movies like The Golden Compass and The Davincci code? Do you think movies like this will raise questions about faith and God with believers? I Believe in God I however do not feel it is right to Boycott the release of movies and books, because I feel Religon it's self causes more people to question God then any movie, expecially fictional ones. I used to go to church faithfully every sunday until I got older and found out how hypocritical people really are I remember people in church telling me that I shouldn't judge people and that a sin is a sin in the eyes of God then in the same breath tell a lady she wasn't welcome in chuch anymore cause her gay son still lived with her. if a sin is a sin and we all sin then what makes us welcome in church and not her? I feel if you dont like the movies message treat it like any other movie and don't watch it why waste time boycotting, How do you feel?

It was the crazyest thing i ever saw. I wasn't the only one who saw him last night. It doesn't mean we're going to die or anything right?? me and my friend were walking home to my house from another friends house, but we saw keith (my across the street neighbor) standing in front of his house, just smiling at me and waving. So I went over to talk to him because he had gone to the hospital two days ago because i heard he had some type of attack. And I said something like, wow, you're back fromt the hospital already and asked if he was okay. all he did was nod his head to say yes. And there was something different about him, but i didn't know what it was. So my friend called me over and i waved goodbye and went on my way. And all he did was smile. And when I turned back, he was just gone. I mean he couldn't run or anything because he only has one leg, but i didn't think anything of it. But i got the news right now that he passed away LAST NIGHT????? So wtf???

Do you believe that Jesus, his father and the Holy Spirit are one?
Do you believe that Jesus, his father and the Holy Spirit are one?
Please explain this to me.

(a) Jesus = Father = Holy Spirit = One.

(b) Jesus + Father + Holy Spirit = One.

(c) Jesus ≠ Father ≠ Holy Spirit ≠ One

(d) Jesus ≠ Father ≠ Holy Spirit = One

Where ‘One’ is equivalent to God.

Which is the correct answer?
Note: Please don’t confuse me again, if you don’t know the answer, just skip it and wait for the Holy Spirit to inspire you.

Are we to understand that Yahweh (YHVH) felt that he SHOULDN'T have made man? Does this mean that he made a mistake? Even other versions of the Bible say that YHVH regretted creating man.

What do you think?

(for the record, I don't even know why I'm trying with this question. I know the answers I'm going to get. Oh well. Let's dance *roundandroundandroundan'drown*)

Where is the technical paper, published, peer reviewed, acknowledged by the NSF as correct, that says Evolution can now be declared a Fact? Meaning we can drop the "theory" from the label. Please provide the reference so I can read it for myself.

In engineering graduate school 19 years ago, Evolution was still a theory...the best theory around, but educated people were still smart enough to keep the label Theory.

Today, in Yahoo Answers, everyone keeps telling me it is a fact. They insult my intellect. Accuse me of being all kinds of negative things. So, prove me wrong. Put up or shut up.

Where is the paper that determined Evolution is a fact?

p.s. I am very pro-science and FOR the continued, extensive research into the Theory of Evolution. It is the only way we'll get to the bottom of this.

And for the real geeks, I've had as many as five servers runningat one time, in my basement processing SETI packets. Knowledge and science are a great thing.

For those of you who use elements as part of a magical system, which elements do you associate with which directions? The most popular system has North as Earth, East as Air, South as Fire, and West as Water. There is another system (which some have said is actually the original) that is less common that places Air in the North, Earth in the East, Fire in the South, and Water in the West.

Though it's not the popular placement, the latter is more logical to me. I live in the UK. To the North we have the cold North wind. To the East there's the continent Europe. To the South there's the equator. And to the West there's the Atlantic. There are other reasons, but it would take too long to list them all.

Which placement do you favour (it could be something entirely different) and why?

I ask with humility. I don't know if I know anything, including the meaning of "I". Using the word "I" is problematic, but i don't know how else to communicate. i have sought enlightenment in many ways, including "not-seeking". And though i have learned/unlearned much, fundamentally i cannot say i have "experienced enlightenment." Please help! :-)

Very un-educating for kids and I just flagged it.

But then again, why did God create Satan? — if they really do exist, it just doesn't make sense...

The question by a LDS Y!Aer (cut and pasted below my questions) needs to be followed up with this question:

Do you think God's Word in the Bible is insufficient, and that the Holy Spirit is insufficient?

What revelations have your prophets made that have added doctrine that isn't in the Bible? If none of the revelations are extra-Biblical (not in the Bible or contradictory to the Bible) why do you need a prophet?

Here's the original question:

I have a question for christians who are not mormons...?
I'm a mormon, a member of the church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints. And I just don't understand how you would believe that god wouldn't appoint a new prophet after christ!!! I find it hard to believe that god would leave you on your own...

If God is ALL KNOWING, then why would he need to test Abraham's faith?

Genesis 22:1-12
1 Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, "Abraham!"
"Here I am," he replied.

2 Then God said, "Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will tell you about."

3 Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4 On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5 He said to his servants, "Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you."

Santa is a bad imitation of our all knowing and wise Father/Mother GOD, but he is more user friendly, like the "Stay Fresh Dough Boy" in GHOST BUSTERS.

I think that is why RC's choose to pray to people like Mary instead of ("before") God.

It is not the Shaddow who "Knows what evil lurks in the heartss of men".

It is not Santa who "Knows if you've been bad or good".

GOD is a bit like the elephant in the room no one will talk about. Unbelievers CHOOSE not to see that this universe is God's calling card.

Be good,
Michael
