I think it's retarded... it's based on a made up religion from a science fiction story.

It would be like 20 years from now people actually take FSM serious enough to build churches made out of macaroni, convert their money into pasta and give it to to the house of pasta to spread the word of his noodly love.

I make a practise of trying to study, and understand, a topic before I form an opinion and then comment on it. However, with regards to Scientology,... haven't read it, don't intend to, don't want to get caught up in some cult that uses an "Idiot factor" to make it work and am not afraid to say that I am not about to buy into anything that was made up by a science fiction writer!

(Aside from Star Wars or Harry Potter, of course!)

I do not really have an opinion on a specific religion, because I personally think that all religions are somehow "evil" and not good for us. It's silly that people fight over religions and think "their" religion is better than others.
So I am thinking if you want to believe in something like scientology, christianity or whatever...do it in the privacy of your house and do not try to convert others. Religion should be something very private, which it is unfortunately not here in the USA. People are so fanatic about their beliefs.

It's a crazy cult.

I am not Christian, nor do I follow any other major religion. I am tolerant and accepting of all religions, but I gotta call a "cult" when I see it.

L. Ron Hubbard was a Sci-fi writer who created the "church" to make money. That's the story plain and simple.

I can't believe anyone actually believes in Scientology.

It was created as a bet by Ron H to show you can make money out of religion. It is founded on complete fiction, Ron H was good at that as was a science fiction writer. Once he realized how much he was raking in he was not going to go back and say hey, sorry guys it was all made up so I could win a bet,, but he should have done.

I'm not a fan, but I really couldn't care less about them until they start forcing their views on others. For instance, who the hell is Tom Cruise to bash Brooke Shields for taking anti-depressants for her postpartum? Did he suffer from postpartum? Does he know what it can do to someone? And why does he expect everyone to follow his religion? No wonder Nicole Kidman divorced him over religious differences! She probably wanted to get her kids vaccinated and he figured if the guy in the sky didn't want those kids to get polio, they just won't. Magic, right?

A religion started by a crazy pulp fiction writer. Scientology is too ridiculous for further discussion.

cult for lunatics for sure.

they used to offer free internet browser CDs that were programmed to remove certain 'risky' words that had anything to do with the religion/cult/etc. because it's a cult

and they charge a lot of money for their 'lessons' written by a sci-fi writer from the 60s (?) who was decent at best anyways.

believers are idiots. there is no xenu that used soul catchers in the atmosphere to control the galaxy. that's retarded.

Scientology is just another thought movement and has worked for many people. Some of it can be very hard to understood unless you have an open mind and willing to learn new things.

I agree with Andymcj78 (atheist)...it's a cult for lunatics...not much difference between scientologists and the followers of Jim Jones...

If you haven't studied it...give it a shot...interesting reading...it's like a white lie...just enough common sense to make it believable...
