What's wrong with saying Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays? It's getting very ridiculous because the holiday's are based on the birth of Jesus Christ our saviour. It's becoming very stupid because there's no commerials or anything drawing the costumers into the stores. Now, it's like a ghost town everywhere you go. What happen to the spirit of the Lord. Just because a set of people don't believe in God doesn't mean that it should be spoiled for the rest. In essence, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

(This woman just called me "narrow-minded". I told her I have been called "nuts", but that was the first time I have ever been called "narrow-minded'.)

Question #2: How much did your school system influence you to be "open-minded"?

I know some people will understand my question completely from what I have written above. Probably the majority will not have a clue and I would be wasting my time if I elaborated. If my question annoys you, you must be in the majority, and if you think it is always good to be in the majority, I send you my blessings with tongue in cheek, as the expression goes.

I posted earlier about this here

Basically, a public school teacher abused his position to evangelise his students. The parents of a student complained. Some thought firing the teacher would be to harsh.

The teacher will be suspend for awhile without pay, and given a second chance. Another incident like this, he'll be fired.

Too harsh, to lenient, or just right ?

(I think it's a reasonable response)

God opened the Red Sea and thus allowing the Jews to escape from Egyptian bondage. Some Bible skeptics claim that the Jews simply walked through the Red Sea because the water, at the time, was only about 3 feet deep. Really? Then how did all the Egyptian horses and soldiers drown?

The Bible teaches that hell will be cast into the lake of fire. This fact reveals that hell is NOT the final place of the unsaved.

Your view?

Hello, all:

I've seen a fair number of responses on Y!A tonight that indicate that Christians think that either Wiccans worship Satan, or that our powers come from Satan.

Wiccans, what do you think leads to this misconception? And Christians, why do you think that we worship Satan, or that our power comes from Satan? Where is the evidence?

Thank you to everyone who takes the time to respond.

Do you think Christians could survive their own intolerant/cruel attitude that they put on others who do not share in their beliefs?

Will Christians *understand* this question? That this question is asked sincerely? Or will they become defensive and throw rocks?

Let's find out shall we.....

My best friend is a missionary in the Philippines.(we're both LDS.) Well, I'm in love with him, have been for years. I wasn't supposed to, but I wrote him a letter explaining how I feel, and I mailed it to him. *cringes* I know! it was lame and done in a moment of weakness, but nothing I can do right now....

Well, since the Filipino mail system is retarded, I won't get an answer from him until at least January. And I haven't written to him since... AGH! I know I should...but idk if it's smart to write anything else until i hear from him. Should I write like nothing happened, or should i wait the next month or so until he responds to me?

*slaps forehead* I'm such an idiot....but any and all advice/comments are welcome.

it were not for your god threatening you to be good or else?

In other words do you try to do and be good because you fear your god?
and Would you have been any different if that fear and threat of punishment was not there from god, and you knew there was no reward either?

Is there anywhere in the bible that states when jesus destiny was revealed. Was he told about his destiny after he was baptised.Or was he revealed it during the 40 days in the destert. Or was it right after he passed the 40 days temptation test and the angels came to him. Please use scripture texts as evidence to answer this question if possible. Thanks
