From my experience, I am completely and utterly skeptical. I've never seen one. I've never seen any physical proof or pictures or video that suggested anything other than trickery, psychological delusion, or natural occurrences. I'm open to the possibility, but until I have an experience that suggests otherwise, I have no reason to believe in ghosts.
It is not that unlike religion, only I'm on the other side of the coin. Some people do not believe in God, and I do. But how can I fault them? I've had the religious experiences in my life that demonstrate God's existence. They have not. So I remain skeptical... but open. You never know.

Please go to to home of a loved one or a friend that you knew very well, right after they died.
You will detect all sorts of little things around the house, a grocery list, a half eaten bag of chips, a list of things to do, perhaps a schedule, all sort of little things. Especially if they died suddenly.
The sense of their presence will be breath taking. But there presence is felt by their absence. That is their new way of being to you.
People in older generation lived amogst the dead. We have insulated ourselves from that experience. We have turned the notion of the sense of someone's spirit remaining into a cartoon.
Yes ghosts are real, but their reality is that they exist inside our own spirits as we sense the presence of a missing soul. This is different then other things that have reality independent of us. But ghosts are still real. Just as real as the thoughts in your head as you read this.

I saw something once, I won't speculate what it was, but I will never forget it. I woke up from a deep sleep and saw this freaky thing that looked like swirling black smoke next to my bed. It tried to "turn into" something but didn't quite make it. It reminded me of a dog, like a black dog, but kept falling apart. Then just went away--hopefully, I never see it or anything like it again.
It was scary, but it's hard to explain, I was more disgusted by it's presence than scared b/c I knew it couldn't hurt me.
No, I wasn't tripping, far from it. But at the time, I was extremely depressed, some terrible things were happening in my life at the time, and I think that whatever it was was attracted to me b/c of that.
Can't believe I told anyone this. . .

Ghosts are not real, they are illusions of intelligent minds...
The bible will help us understand this topic..
If you will read Genesis 2:7 it says:
"7 And Jehovah God proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man came to be a living soul."
This clearly shows that Jehovah God create human by blowing the breath of life in their nostrills. Theres no such things here that God created human with an immortal soul on it...right?
Heres the other one: I Corinthians 15:25 says
" It is even so written: “The first man Adam became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit"
So the first man became a living soul...
Which means that we are called living souls, even animals are called living souls. Numbers 31:28 says:And as a tax for Jehovah you must take away from the men of war who went out on the expedition one soul out of five hundred, of humankind and of the herd and of the asses and of the flock"
so all living creatures , man , animals are called living souls..
Now what happens after death?
Ecclesiastes 9:5-6"For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun. "
So my friend, after we die, theres no immortal soul that rise from our dead body! we are all goes back to the dust where we came from. But Jehovah promis that we are going to be reinstated and our love ones who died before, and we will all have chance to live in a paradise earth wherein we can live peacefully, all the root of our tears will be no more...
Revelation 21:4 says" And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
So why now waste our time in this uncertain world? Why not learn what the bible really teaches...? it means everlasting lif efor all of us....
John 17:3 says:" This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ. "
Look for Jehovahs Witnesses in your place...

Well, if you ask someone with a religious background, they aren't ghost. They're demons, and yes, they do exsist. It's the same thing that causes people to become possessed (like in the excorsist).

From my own personal experiences I can tell you that ghosts were real when I was a child, just like Santa and the Easter Bunny were real.
I've grown up a bit since then.
