The church tells religious people everything that they are allowed to do, or not allowed to do. So, people are not responsible for their values, the church is?

What types of practices do they use in their faith? What exactly do they believe in?

In the eyes of the church, is a person still a virgin if he/she has given or receive oral sex, but never had actual sex?

Or how about passionately kissing someone on a bed?

"Touching"?

To what extent are they considered as a virgin?

I'm asking this question because you can do SO much to someone on an intimate physical level without ever having sex.

I'd like to know when the line is crossed.

Also would it be a sin to think about foreplay, without masturabating?

....and let us humans live in peace and happiness?
What is wrong with God? Sometimes I think that the Devil kicked God out of the Universe.
Maybe they kicked themselves simultaneously out of our lives and that explains why they both do not exist. Now I know.

Not me. There are just some things that I will not do for God, no matter what he says or threatens as punishment. Not going to do it.

It is just a disbelief of a God. That is all; nothing less, nothing more. Any belief or opinion an atheist may have differs with the individual. Yet an individual’s opinions or beliefs are molded by the society in which they live in or the atmosphere they were raised in. So how do you know the society or home life you lived in was a good one, a moral one? Aren't your own opinions influenced by your surroundings and not due to your own individual opinions? What makes your opinions better than another’s? How can you criticize another’s individual beliefs or opinions, if you can’t see past your nose when it comes to your own opinions?

Aren't there any real scientific articles on the Internet to support your position (ones without religious bias)? You certainly don't see creationist propoganda in the science section of Yahoo! News.

quote from Marcus Borg.

2007-11-30 17:11:14 · 7 answers · asked by Anonymous

First you get down on your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Do whatever steps you want if
You have cleared them with the Pontiff.
Everybody say his own
Kyrie eleison,
Doin' the Vatican Rag.

Get in line in that processional,
Step into that small confessional.
There the guy who's got religion'll
Tell you if your sin's original.
If it is, try playin' it safer,
Drink the wine and chew the wafer,
Two, four, six, eight,
Time to transubstantiate!

So get down upon your knees,
Fiddle with your rosaries,
Bow your head with great respect,
And genuflect, genuflect, genuflect!

Make a cross on your abdomen,
When in Rome do like a Roman;
Ave Maria,
Gee, it's good to see ya.
Gettin' ecstatic an' sorta dramatic an'
Doin' the Vatican
Rag!

I find it hard to believe that so many people in Sudan want Gillian Gibbons executed for naming a classroom bear Muhammid. Aren't others name Muhammid? Like Muhammid Ali. I don't think she meant any harm and she apparently loves children or she wouldn't be teaching. I think this is just a racist excuse to hurt someone from the West. Could you imagine what would happen if we in the West wanted to Execute someone for naming a bear Jesus. My personal opinion is that someone from the Muslim faith should have corrected her and asked that she not do this anymore and gave faith reasons why it was innapropriate to there religious belief. I don't see how this kind of behavior will bring peace. As a Christian i am taught to do good to those who harm me and forgive. Is there any forgiveness in the Muslim faith? Please let me know.

Opened to provide the water for "Noah's worldwide flood", does that mean god predesigned the planet with intent to at some point kill almost the entire population? Is this the intelligent design of a loving god?

...giving money to the Salvation Army bell-ringers outside department stores? Even though it's a Christian organization, do you go ahead and do it because some of the money goes to help people in need? Or do you decline because you don't want to help fund religion?

The four marks of the true church are: 1. One (basic doctrines are the same throughout the entire world). 2. Holy (Founded by Jesus Christ 3. Universal (It is open and available to everyone. No one can be excluded) 4. Apostolic (It can be trased back to the Apostles in history.

I have seen these listed as the 4 marks of the true church many times. Who decided these are the marks of the true church? Is this list found in the Bible somewhere? It seems to me this list is made up by Catholics to try and exclude all other denominations.

Those people that observe christmas. When November comes around I hear them all saying how they should give to the less fortunate, charities and homeless orginizations. What about the other ten months? Do they think these problems just go away? Are they really decent poeple or do they have to be reminded once a year to do something decent? I think they're just trying to get their "goodguy badge" and this is when they are reminded to do it.
