It's the other way around. Jesus came first. The spanish speaking people then adopted a form of the name. It was originally a common Jewish name. Remember Jesus was a peasant.

He doesn't. His name in Aramaic was Yeshua, and Yeshu in Hebrew. His Aramaic name was Yeshua bar Yosef.

Its called translation. The orginal spelling was Yeshua and it means "May his name be blotted out".
