If the earth is 2007 years old, why do we have dinosaur bones that are millions of years old?

Was there life before Jesus? That's B.C. right? Does that mean that there was life for millions of years before there was a God, then all of a sudden God makes adam and eve?

I have read the Bible, and I don't understand it at all. Thanks for your help with this.

apart from the fact that they live in Utah (i mentioned this for people who, i wish, came with a plug), do they have any discernible characteristics different to saints living elswhere, attitude- or culture-wise?

i can also recall a missionary from boise that i met who is serving in a different area telling me something about one of the missionaries
"he's a smart missionary and all, but he has that Utahn attitude."

i have met dozens of Utahn missionaries, and i do not see any obvious difference with how they act, or maybe it's an american thing.

I have a very nice lady stopping by my home and she has been coming for about 3 weeks now. I am a Christian and am trying to strengthen my faith in every way possible. She comes to sit with me for about 20 minutes once a week and I read through my NIV bible while we study a guide "WHAT DOES THE BIBLE Really TEACH?" I love it that it makes me open my bible at least once a week. I'm a very busy wife and mom and have tried several different ways to find time. But I don't think I really want to convert to Jehovah Witness. Will she be offended
and feel used if I have her come just for the bible study? She has already invited me to a Sunday service and I didn't go.

When I came here I was more of a deistic agnostic. But because of all the questions on creation vs. big bang I have learned much and become an atheist.

Earlier, someone spoke of religion as analogous to training wheels for early human society, which we are now ready to take off. I really liked this and was surprised I'd never heard anybody say it before, so I wanted to share (even though I have the feeling that this is an old analogy that I've been miraculously oblivious to, but then maybe I'm paranoid).

What do you think of it?

Why are ant-religion ppl so angry at us? Why cant they except any concept of faith? Do they really think if they prove that God cant be real through science christians will stop believing? No! That would defeat the whole point of miracles, the whole point of faith. Since when is it a crime to love God? Why cant ppl just agree to disagree? Some Atheist are calling us stupid and problamatic. Dont expect us not to retaliate when you say God isn't real and your a moron for believing it.

I rly feel God spoke to me thru someone about healing from being an abuse victim. He said, " you have 2 recreate yourself from the ground up ". Any advice on this ? Any prayers or verses ?

I went and saw the surgen yesterday morning at the out patients clinic and he said to me that he is concerned. There is nothing the doctors can do about my cancer, as it has spread too far. I just want to thank you christians for praying for me and encouraging me and getting others to pray for me too. I saw the doctor today and he found in the midline an aortic pulpatation that is prominent. This sounds scarey. Do you have any idea what this means? Anyway christians I hope to see you in Heaven soon, so as the rapture draws nigh so is your redemption. God bless. So chrisitans or non if you can tell me what a midline aoritic pulpataion is that would be great. I did not think of asking the doctor this, but I will on Tuesday. I was told today somthing that has to do with the heart organ. I hope that this does not mean the cancer is getting close to the heart.

Why do all people think that WE, as Christians, have all the answers to all of life's questions?
We are merely human just like you...we have only made a decision to be a follower of Christ and to be forgiven. Yes, we have the bible to tell us how to live and about God's love and things like that, but why do you think we have all the answers about evolution and why and all that?
we simply have faith?
Why do you waste your time trying to prove us wrong?
maybe its subcontious...maybe you try to prove us wrong to make your convictions and stuff go away....
maybe you talk yourself out of the realism of God and the bible?
However, at the same time...why do we, as Christians, waste our time trying to prove non-believers wrong?
shouldn't we be spending our time loving others, making our faith stronger, witnessing, etc?

I got a person he asked me what powers i get doing meditation etc. and what happens, i said you get powers like
arima, garima ....... like powers you can move in air you can get atomic body, you can even cahng your body, and i explained
after that i said, if you SACRIFY those powers also you win the gods heart. after that i felt what extent shall be a question?

My nephew is 4 years old and he got into a physical altercation with a 5 year old at preschool about religion. I don't even understand why they would have been talking about it but maybe the other boy goes to church a lot. anyway my nephew told the boy "my mommy says there is no god and no jesus" and the other boy told all the kids in the class what my nephew said and they were all making fun of him and he started to cry then the other boy came up and hit him and told him he was going to hell.
my nephew is a nice little boy who is very shy and quite and only wants to be friends with everyone and he can't understand why they are being so mean to him. i realize it isn't my place to say anything to him but his mother is a bit unbalaced and i try to look out for him so what should i tell him? how should i help him? please don't say "help him find god" or "take him to church" because as you may have figured out we are atheists.

Christians tell us that Astrology, and the studying of the stars, (basic astronomy) is forbidden.. yet the bible speaks of astrology in many places. Take Job Chapter 38 for instance.

The "Pleiades?" "Orion?" what is this, oh these are CONSTELLATIONS... then in the next verse we have the MAZZAROTH, what is the Mazzaroth... it's so important they even capitalized it. The Mazzaroth if you go look it up is none other than the ZODIAC.

So tell us Christians, why does your book talk about ASTROLOGY, and the ZODIAC?
