If so why? It's got a nice ring to it and includes everyone.

No. However, 95% of Americans are not offended when someone says "Merry Christmas". Which leaves only up to 5% of Americans who are. That's very small. And, of the 95% who are not offended by the words "Merry Christmas", 35% are offended by the words "Happy Holidays", or any other politically correct greeting. These same 35% are so offended, that they've actually admitted that they will turn around and walk right out of a store, and never shop there again, if a worker says any phrase to them other than "Merry Christmas" when they walk in. So, my question is this: why are more and more stores willing to offend 35%, who would actually walk out of the store and never return, but they are not willing to offend a mere 5%? Are they that bad in math? They're only hurting their business by being politically correct to appease a very few people, while offending so many more.

As Stephen Colbert said, "I’m reading my Random House unabridged dictionary, I keep it on this beautiful wooden stand by the john, and I look up the word ‘holiday.’ It means ‘holy day’. Holy day! That’s totally different.

It’s time to stop the anti-Holy Day crowd who’ve been jamming Merry Christmas down our throats: Jerry Falwell, Focus on the Family, The Heritage Foundation, Pat Robertson, and especially John Gibson."

Holiday comes from the words HOLY DAY... I don't really see anything holy about the rebirth of the SUN on Dec. 25th after winter solstice, to me it's just a natural occurence. To Christians it's the birthday of their saviour the SUN of God.

What's funny is that some Christians get upset by a word that came from phrase "Holy Day" hahaha... sheep

Lets get this straight...Happy holidays is supposed to include everyone...but everyone does not believe the same things...in fact, a lot of everyones hold mutually contradicting beliefs, thus only one can be right. By including everyone you exclude everyone. In one broad sweep you say all religions are basically the same with the same message. That's insulting to all religions. All religions being valid essentially means all religions are equally invalid. By the way, I really don't care what one says this time of year...I'm not big on any holiday.

Some people find it offensive, I don't i love Christmas and Hanukkah also.

By the way, for the Christians who find Hanukkah offensive, Christianity is rooted in Judaism. So Christianity is a form of Judaism.

Hanukkah shouldn't offend a true Christian.
-Hope that helps.

I think it's perfectly fitting. There are many holidays around the same time of year. it's a holiday season.

Lots of people get off of work and school so that makes it quite happy.

Merry Christmas, Happy Thanksgiving etc... has a nice ring to it too.
People are being brain washed into thinking somethings wrong with saying that, and that includes everyone.

No, i'm not bothered by it at all. I say Happy Holidays, I say Merry Christmas, I say them all, and I accept them all.

No. It is a lot easier than stating all of the holidays that are in November, December, and January ... that would take all day ...
