I wonder how much money the mormon church is worth and how much their assets grow year by year

The church has not publicly disclosed its financial statements in the United States since 1959.

Wikipedia had a very detailed page dedicated to this subject:

To summarize, the church was basically bankrupted at the beginning of 20th century and put itself on a course to be self-sustaining, no matter what happens. Their net worth is now well into the billions, with one 1996 estimate at $30 billion.

Do I detect some "sour grapes"?

I don't find it to be a bad thing at all to be in a financial situation where the church does not have to worry about where their next rent payment is coming from. That doesn't have to BEG every week from the pulpit for "MORE MONEY!". That teaches that God gives blessings to those who cheerfully give their tithes. That sacrifice brings forth the blessings of heaven.

And, that the money is NOT going into the pockets of the pastor, especially a pastor who seems to be living a little high off the hog. And there ARE pastors like that. Not all of them, not even most of them, but enough.

That's the best I can do, right now, to satisfy your curiosity. I hope it helps. I couldn't find a clear fiscal report in the limited time I have. (Now I've got to get back to work.)

:-)

Billions, which in my opinion should throw up a red flag to members. Members normally see it as a blessing as apposed to seeing it as a problem. The church is not rich because it is blessed. It is rich because it is a very successfull business discuised as a cult.

I don't know. My mormon friend is filthy rich, and one of the members of her church lives in the biggest house in town (and I got to go there with her once for some young women's pool party, it was awesome).
