If the earth is 2007 years old, why do we have dinosaur bones that are millions of years old?
Was there life before Jesus? That's B.C. right? Does that mean that there was life for millions of years before there was a God, then all of a sudden God makes adam and eve?
I have read the Bible, and I don't understand it at all. Thanks for your help with this.

I'm going to give you the Christian caught in the headlights answer: When they're talking about God creating the universe in 7 days, a day could be interpreted as a million years or more, So God created the animals (including dinosaurs) on 1 day, then on another day he created man, but that could have been a billion years apart. You see? Ya, me neither.

I will try to do this in a way you should be able to understand.
2007 is only the year that we go by to measure dates and days and they were changed throughout time by different cultures. Here is the best way to see it.
<-|---|--B.C.-|-A.D.--|---|->
In this line, the BC is Before the Birth of Christ, and the AD stands for Anno Donnum, which is latin and means The Year Of Our Lord, or After the Death of Christ. The First two lines may be considered to events in past history. The first could bethe day the earth was created and the second may be the time that Israel became a nation under King David. The line in the middle may represent the actual day that Jesus turned 16 or 17. Then the two lines at the end may represent the day that Rome tries to make Christianity not just a faith but and organized religion, which is 325 and the next line may be the day that Columbus discovered America. Now if you continue out past that time counting in years you would come to the year 2007, A.D. If you went the other way and counted outward to the year 2007 B.C. that could be the year that Abraham first recieved the promise from God to become a Father Of Many Nations. Yes there was life before Jesus, as a man. However, there was not "life" before there was "God". it was God that created life period. You may look at a site called ChristianAnswers.com it is a very good but simple site and breaks things down for you.
God bless you and I hope that may have helped

I am not a biblical expert by any means, however I am a religious person who believes in both the bible and science and I do think that they intertwine.
First of all the earth is more than 2007 years old. It is uncertain exactly when calenders became documented as a 12 month year and four seasons in each and so on. What is modernly known as " dinosaurs" were probably the "dragons" and beasts talked about in the bible. When God created the earth is when time began. The bible says that all living and mankind were brought into existence in 7 days.
Now, as we know 7 days to be a week. But God did not have a watch that said each day was 24 hours and 7 days a week. His week may have been months even years.
Notice how in biblical days life-spans were hundreds of years. But societies developed and man became more "primitive" over the earth creating more and more abuse to the natural substances God gave them to survive and then finding ways to create their own pollutants. Which thinned our ozone layer and caused less oxygen and sunshine for survival which is why we do not live 600 years, but 60-90 years.

The earth was VOID before God created it. So that means there was absolutely NOTHING. there was just God. He created the HEAVENS and The EARTH. He made man and woman. The earth is not 2007 years old. Its older than that. it has been 2007 years since the death of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There was life before Jesus. And after Jesus. Now about the dinos they could have been here before God ended Life on earth when he flooded it. But there is no need to worry aboutt or wonder abou it. Because that is how God made it. You are not supposed to wonder about things like that. So maybe you should read the bible some more because it is at a 3rd grade reading level. Ask someone to help you by explaining it to you. And you will understand. Good Luck and God Bless. But there was no millions of years that passed on the earth.

The earth is way older than 2007 years. That date is suppose to be how many years it has been since Jesus died on a cross. There was thousands of years before Christ. God has always been and will always be. You need to pray before you start to read the Bible. Ask God to open your mind and understanding to His Word. Read a couple chapters, then sit back and think about what you just read. Try to vision it in your mind. Best place to start is the New Testament, St. Matthew 1:1. That is the part of the Bible for us today. The Old Testament is for research and some understanding of somethings in the New Testament. Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament when He died on the cross. It doesn't pertain to us today.

Earth is not 2007 yrs old. Yes there was life before Jesus Christ (BC) God created Earth then man, nothing was before Him.
The Bible can be confusing. It helps if you have someone help you a little with it. Go to a local church and the Pastor will be happy to help. You could call one and ask over the phone first too. I like Study Bibles, they help explain things in the versus. Its great to hear that you are interested. Good luck on your journey for Truth.
Caveman..?? You are thinking of everything..lol. All I can say is that there is a difference of opinions on that subject. Its a matter of a Science view, and the Faith view on that.

I agree, you're so confused.
The earth is billions of years old; and the Bible does not contradict this -- though some interpret it to say so.
Therefore, there is nothing anti-biblical about dinosaurs or their bones.
God has always existed. At the time of Jesus' birth, God became a man; he didn't then come into existence. And it is clear that there was life on the earth for billions of years before Adam and Eve (as well as before Jesus was born); and God is the one who created all of it.
It might help you to understand the Bible if you took a Bible Study course. A free one is available at:
http://www.herbert-w-armstrong.org/AC%20Bible%20Corr%20Course.html
(But don't contact the Church that produced them, they don't believe those things any more.)
Another, more up to date one is at:
http://www.ucg.org/bsc/
Read some history books too.

First and foremost, the Bible never said that the earth is 2007 years old. The year 2007 A.D. means quite directly 2007 years Anno Domini (latin sorry if syntax error) which means Anno-year Domini-Lord or Our Lord. Now I would like to point out one more fine point. Christians make too many references to the Bible as a history book thats a bunch of Tommy-nonsense ribble-rabble. It consists of two different religions ( 1.Judaism or jew's religion "Old Testament" "Tankh" containing the "Torah" and other books and then 2. Christainity in the "New Testament") and many authors and many who were never made into books in the modern bible.
Of course there was life before "Jesus" they even tell you in the "Old Testament', read Genesis. Supposedly the children of Adam and Eve had average lifespans of around 400 years. That was to make us both feel as though we could live well into several centuries if we did well and it also answers your question with an illusion, the question of "How long have we been here?" The best answer could be "What difference does it make. Time is a novelty invented by mankind and is only in relation to the rotational speed of the planet and it's orbital speed around the sun. The Bible in the Old Testament holds wonderful mystery and multiple levels of meaning free to interpret to many life situations and is transferable to modern times quite well. Now I have a problem... Christ was a messenger of God Not however the only God in my eyes instead I believe that we are all the eyes and soul of God not Just the Christ. I also believe that evil murdered Christ the Crucifiction was a vile act by the rulers of that day and he was lionized as a God by the Pagan Romans of that day when the Old Testament was combined with the New Testament about 300 A.D. about about 270 years after he was crucified. I believed that christ was a fearless leader and hero and one of the first who used non-violence as a revolutionary tool against the ruling party (Like Ghandi) but it is kinda funny how the Ruler of a kingdom suddenly threatened by a radical movement known as 'Followers of Christ' responded instead of with violence (would only feed the passions of the Christian Activists) he made Modern Christianity and controlled the teachings as well as infused it with pagan elements and the Jew's bible. He did all this with the hope that he would 'Unite' these various factions and make them easy to humble and control. Don't believe me. I studied theology for about 6 years and history for much longer. I will tell you, modern christianity is not Christ's Christianity, Christ didn't have a christmas tree that is a Pagan thing, as well as Saints (multiple Gods? Idol worship? Pagan!) I have studied a bit of history on religion. I hope that I didn't make this too complicated because the truth is even more than this. If you want to know the truth you must dig deeper. True religion is man at his best dealing with life's worst and being able to smile and love life and plod forward. If you don't like what you heard here, become a Jew.

the earth is not 2007 years old, there is the BCE which is before common era(its the same as Before Christ BC) and there is CE which is common era( After death AD) the world was created millions of years ago by "GOD" or the big bang theory depending on what you believe in, Adam and Eve were written in the bible as the creation story for all those who believe in it, technically Adam and Eve were created millions of years before Jesus,
Yes there was life before jesus,
Jesus serves as the savior for the Jews and the Hebrews, He is seen as the savior thats why when he comes they want to start a new life and so thats why it counts up, so we are only 2007 years from when jesus was living,

I don't think anyone says the Earth is 2007 years old. Young Earth creationists normally give a date of 6000 years. As to dinosaur bones most creationists tend to think they are a result of the flood.
As to life before Jesus. The answer is yes and no. Jesus has always existed as God so He existed before anything else. However He came to Earth to be born as a man around 2000 years ago so yes life existed before He came as a man.
There are many theories about creation and Adam and Eve. Some believe a literal 6 day creation where all life was created. Some believe in a pre-adamite world. A world ruled by Satan and that God destroyed.
I personally believe God created all life on Earth. I think with animal and plant life He could have created a baseline organism that adapted to its environment. I believe humans were created from the dust just as the Bible says.

The earth is approsimately 2007 years AD (after the birth of Christ. No one really knows how old the earth was before Jesus came to earth.
There was life before Jesus, the old testament, but before the 6 days when God created the earth and everything in it (including Adam and Eve) there was nothing, no light, no days, no time, no life, but God was there. (Genisis 1 :2 )
God is like a circle - there was no time when He wasn't there, no time when He 'came' and no time when he will 'go', no beginning and no end.
Hope this helped.
God Bless
