so atheists do have blind faith, whether it be believing this question is stupid or in themselves.

then why do you condemn christians for having it in God?

No, I don't have faith.

Faith is just an excuse for believing whatever the hell you want.

Faith can be used to justify anything, which is why it should never be used as justification for anything.

Any belief that cannot withstand a thorough investigation is probably wrong.

People who base their decisions on faith are fundamentally incompetent and inherently dangerous to the rest of society.

I have "faith" that my car will start when I turn the ignition but I have a feeling that's not the type of "faith" you're talking about.

The type of faith I think you're talking about is a belief in something that you have NO evidence for nor will you EVER have evidence for.

I have a very good reason to have faith that my car will start mainly because it started the last 100 times I turned the ignition. I have faith it'll start because I know i just filled up the gas tank. I think you can see where this is going

Atheists are people who believe in the simplicity of science and Occam's Razor, which means that one should choose the simpler answer over the more complicated one, which only works some of the time. Like, our skin. Is it made up of millions and billions of tiny organisms constantly living, reproducing, and dying? Or is it just a fabric-esque growth over our bodies? But evolution is pretty well proven, but that doesn't mean there isn't a god(s).

Also, the atheists that are more anti-theists are usually angry with god(s) becuase of a tragedy or life experience. They annoy the hell out of me. But the first atheist that I described are fine people; some of the best I've met, as a matter of fact.

I have faith in plenty of things.

But I do NOT have faith in things that have been proven to be false.

That would be silly.

And the only difference between a believer and a non-believer is knowledge.

If you knew what I knew about religion, you would be an atheist, too.

There are things I believe, and there are moral values that I hold. But there is nothing I have "faith" in for the definition of faith that you have in mind. Faith is insistence on belief in the face of evidence to the contrary. It's a form of insanity, one I don't wish to share.

I am an atheist...and yes I still have faith in alot of things. Just because you do not believe in god does not mean you don't have any faith. People say that if you do not believe in god you go to hell, well in other religions it says that if you do not believe in there god then you go to hell and that is with most religions, well there is hundreds of religions and almost every one has a different god and like I said they believe that if you don't belive in there god you go to hell so in that case because everyone does not believe in every god therefore everyone must go to hell.

Of course Atheists have faith. They have faith in science, reasoning, education...you know, the stuff that provides PROOF.

Yes. I have faith that I'm going to keep breathing until something stops it from happening...

Hunman life as applied to science: Much like one of Newton's laws of motion: An object, once set in motion, remains in motion until an outside force acts upon it.

Therefore I will continue to breathe and live just like every other creature on the planet unless an outside force acts upon my system of living.

Outside forces I have faith in:
-old age
-cholesterol (damn you McDonalds!)
-genetic diseases
-zombies, dinosaurs, cannibals, aliens, etc. eat me
-etc.

No. I don't operate on faith. It is not necessary to believe that which is not supported by evidence, let alone proven. I find faith ridiculous, which is what makes me different from a CHRISTAIN.

(See, two can play the "I can't spell" game)

I have faith in myself, and believe that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. I have faith that everyone has this same potential.

I have faith in my family, that they will continue to love me and I have faith that I will continue to love them.

I have faith in humanity, and believe that it can achieve great things.
