abiogenesis ,LOL a very fancy word but it does not explain where the spark of life came from. And NO ,no lab has ever created life .... DNA . No DNA has ever been created.. Still no adequate or reasonable answer.

I know where I came from because I am born-again...And now that HIS Spirit lives inside of me, I have no doubt that he exists. HE, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and HE directs my path each day. HE has designed a place for me to spend eternity with him. If I deny HIS existence now, if I worship other gods, if I live like an animal and teach my children and grandchildren that they were created from an animal, I will surely not see my Creator when I leave this earth. We are all going to pass away and where will you go after that? This question has to go along with the question of where did we come from, because we are no mistake or chance happening on the only planet that sustains life in our solar system.
We are children of the one and only Jehovah, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Our feeble minds can not comprehend HIS Majesty or HIS plans for us. We must simply believe in him and trust that HIS word written in the HOLY BIBLE is truth. God Bless ALL of you and I hope you will unharden your hearts to the one who loved you so much that he came back to earth to live as a GOD-MAN so that by HIS GRACE you will be saved. ONLY by HIS GRACE will we be saved. Nothing a Scientist or Scholar or Yahoo Answer Member can do. Only our Lord Jesus Christ can be your ladder to the Almighty GOD of Abraham, Issac and Jacob....Aside from being HIS marvelous design, and along with the gift of his son Jesus Christ, Our Lord has given each one of us a gift to perfect and use as a witness to others .... Ask HIM into your heart so that you too can SHINE JESUS.....
Let HIS love fill your hearts as we celebrate the birth of HIS son Christ Jesus ~!!~<>< COLE

Why do you say that God is the only adequate/ reasonable answer? For you it may be but for others, not so much. Too ambiguous. Remember mythology and the gods of war, love and fortune? Romans and Greeks were very sure of themselves too. Today we know that was bloody unlikely. Perhaps we are still infantile in our reasoning and in the future it will become more clear. Maybe not. Maybe the living will never know. Civilization is young. We also used to think the world was flat. Found out otherwise as science and technology developed. Thousands of years from now, we may also be seen as infidels and narrow minded, per chance, even silly. I have an open mind and will stand by the notion that we are evolving and nobody has the answer,

TMNT, anyone? If we go down into the New York Sewers right now we will see 4 turtles and a rat eating pizza, talking with one another, fighting bad guys, and quoting shakespeare. :=)
The point is that we cannot find any talking monkeys to date yet somehow we evolved from monkeys! We still cannot find any transitions from green gelatin amoebas turning into fully functioning Humans! Oh wait the process takes a billion years... What gives?
All of the known methods scientists use to date fossils can be ambiguous at best. Evolution has not been proven. It still to this day remains a theory. Come on people indulge us. Tests can be manipulated, altered, doctored, falsified. There is no solid evidence, only conjecture that must continue to be relied upon based on scientists opinions (which is based on blind faith by the way--how ironic--none of us were their during the experiements you know) which in return you all happen to agree with & base your opinions from. If you guys ever come across a gorilla who happens to be a linguist and a mechanic all at the same time plz let me know. I think I last spotted one in the appalachian mountains or was that Bigfoot?

I hope you're in good health, i agree with you, i can't answer your question from an atheist's point of you but i must admit that am a carnal (wo)man in transition and i have to say i am a living example of God's existence. I've come a long way in a short time but I've learnt enough to know that there's only one explanation for everything, the absolute truth which is God! The only other thing i can recommend them is to read, read, read and hopefully learn from the Bible. I think the link below is a great starting point for anyone who is willing to give a chance to themselves to truly educate themselves about this important subject. God bless

Oh, puhleeze! In what way shape or form is "god" an adequate or reasonable answer to the question of life's origins? It answers nothing at all, it explains nothing. When that answer is given, one knows less than before asking, not more.
Science, on the other hand, has what seems to me a perfectly plausible hypothetical sequence of events which satisfactorily explain to me and billions of others what probably happened. Since nobody can ever know with certainty exactly and in detail how life on Earth arose, that will suffice.

The early earth had primitive conditions which caused the formation of the building blocks of life; eventually, RNA and DNA formed from the pre-life molecules. The RNA and DNA began replicating itself, and creating structures around itself to assist in replicating itself. Through natural selection, and evolution, here we are.

in what world is saying that some thing just went poof and we were there a adequate and reasonable anwser?
there is not one shred of proof towards your "god". i say that and you say what about the bible. my response is who wrote the bible? Moses, Abraham? how can we say that what they tell you in this "holy book" is true, it was written over a thousand years ago. then you say well god wouldn't lie and neither would they. how do we know we can trust these people to tell the truth. have you ever felt god has anybody that ever said they are a prophet or that they have felt a higher being had any proof other than there word against everybody else's.
i will admit i don't know and many others don't either but i ask you where's your proof of "god"?

Even with Abiogenesis, it's entirely logical that God was involved. How can anyone say that these things happened without God's will? Perhaps people evolved from His creation, but that doesn't mean that He doesn't exist. I don't see the disconnect.

Wow, is this a question or a way for you to get on your pedestal? Hmm...the origin on life happened when the earth was created and subsequently life was formed. It all started with little tiny single cell organisms and worked it's way up from there. If you had gone to class, you would have learned that from oh, biology, astronomy, to just name two. Actually, that was pretty simple to answer.

Life and matter are energy.
Energy cannot be created or destroyed.
I find it perfectly logical that the universe has always existed, and so has life, in one form or another.
That is a much more likely scenario than the magic man of the Hebrews defying everything we know scientfically of the universe, to poof everything into existence (the entire universe) for the express purpose of catering to one tribe of humanity, in one remote area, of one remote planet, above every other thing in the universe.
