As a kid my grandparents took me to a United Pentecostal Church. They taught that women were not allowed to wear pants, makeup, cut their hair, wear jewelry, wear short sleeves etc. because it was a sin. I questioned my Sunday School teacher and she explained that pants were for men. To dress in them would be taking on the persona of a man. I guess it would be like crossdressing. What about people in other countries and cultures? There are men that wear skirts. What if a woman wanted to be a fireman? She could not possibly work in a long skirt. So would this be wrong? I know putting out fires is not a sin so what could she do to please the church? I don't know of any females that buy their pants in the men's dept. they do make jeans for women so how can this be considered wearing men's clothing? This has always bugged me because that church feels so strongly about this and judge others on clothes and makeup. I believe God looks at your heart, not your hair or clothes.

How many years do you think we have left before the Christians and Muslims kill each other off in the name of god? Will we finally find some world peace once they're gone? -Agnostic

that everybody wants to be perceived to be American anyway? I'd have to say (not that I'm American) that the idea of conforming to some national stereotype doesn't particularly appeal to me.

Living life in God's will is not a game and should not be approached ignorantly or frivolously. It is being within His will that assures our salvation and not all the legalism one may attach to God's plan.

Many people seem to think that all they have to do is in a moment of emotion and/or reason ascent to recognition of Christ being their savior and their salvation to eternal life is assured. From that point forward it makes no difference that their life is changed and they will live differently. The only thing that has changed is that evil in their lives as displayed outwardly and lived inwardly no longer has an effect on their eternity as their one act of acceptance has made them immune to the actions of their sins at judgment and obligated God to accept them into His presence. Some will go so far as to say that one's sinfulness and evil has nothing to do with the value of their souls before God because even the most evil, sinful soul is....

and there's a lot of them telling you to keep away from pentecostal/charismatic AND The Church Of England, and also The Roman Catholic Church,as their doctrines, practises and the ritualistic things they do are false and wrong in Gods eyes.Is this correct?Which is the best denomination to belong to then, which is a good Bible-Beleiving church, where people know Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour.Should I go to a Baptist or a Free Evangelical,Methodist,or where? It needs to be a church where I can grow in my faith, and where I can be with other Born -Again christians who know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. If possible can someone in the uk who is a mature Born-Again christian, who's been one for some time get back to me on this please as soon as possible, and also with some advice on what to do if you're still struggling with sinful things in your life that are hard to give up.There's many things in my life that I just shouldnt be doing as a christian.Help!am I not Born Again at all.Denise

Since this nation was founded a Christian nation, can we say that atheists are Un-American? And if so, should they be treated as terrorists?

Do some really want to cut off the Phoenix's wings?
It is very good to be grounded and be able to fly.
Some talk of a future Heaven while some think Earth bound is all there is.
A path that includes only one is not a complete teaching.

I'm an atheist, so I can't argue, but really can you imagine, if some kid wanted to call his cuddly toy "Jesus" who could care.

There are a lot less Christians called "Jesus" than Moslems called "Mohammed" and Christians think he's God (not a prophet)
Who calls a kid "Jesus", only Mexicans or Spaniards to my knowledge?
Who gets the knickers in a twist about it?
A culture that is secure accepts changes and influences like Ireland did until the genocidal English mobs came rolling in.
Danes, Vikings, Normans became as Irish as the irish

The only threat to Christianity or Islam is the idiots who proclaim they do God's will, like the Taliban or missionaries!
At the worst in the UK you''d get your curry from a Muslim and not a Hindu!
Vive la difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hinduism had multiple gods, so I think it is pagan.
Just wanted to make sure.

I don't want any morons posting Bible quotes about only worshipping one god, burning in hell, etc.

Just answer the question, please :)

No, Satan is NOT an answer.

According to the Bible, God created the lust and pleasure during sex for Adam and Eve. He made them 'hunger' for one another. How can lust be considered an sin when God supposedly made us that way?
