It is impossible for one to kill the other off. Both religions indoctrinate there children and teach them hate of all that is different at a rather early age.
I can only hope that they decide to stop fighting. religious wars are ridiculous, they remind me of small children fighting over who has the biggest imaginary friend.

Religion will only go away the same way it came about, evolution. It will take many generations. Once a certain person crosses a certain threshold of belief, all the evidence in the world won't change their minds. The only thing we can do is wait for them to die and take their backwards beliefs with them. So those of us alive today will never see an end to religion.
It could take centuries or even millennia, but I do think that as we become more enlightened by science and increased self awareness, religion will be increasingly viewed as what it is... obsolete!!

Oh I think there is a big war coming and the Muslims are going to start it. Then promptly lose horribly in only days. I give it 20-30 years tops. Maybe not that long. That won't get rid of the Christians though.
Christians in the west are slowly dropping off. It is going to hit a tipping point and there will be a lot fewer of them pretty quickly.

I figure one or two generations to go. Imagine the next Caliphate encompassing all of Asia except China, and most of Africa with the Middle East. A cold war for awhile and the it hits the fan.

Above responses all ALL good reasons for us to colonize and terraform Mars. Let the supposedly meek theists inherit the Earth (dirt) - those of us of reason will inherit the stars.

No, human beings don't need religion to find an excuse to slaughter each other. In fact very few wars are really about religion.

Agnostic theist - Believes in a deity, yet does not understand if a deity exists. To be greater particular, i don't have self assurance that the bible is what I might desire to have self assurance in, yet I do have self assurance there is a few variety of god, yet can't make certain.

As an atheist, I wouldn't want them to kill off each other. I am against such senseless violence.
