Well in my infinite goodness here is the definition:

Intensive, forcible indoctrination, usually political or religious, aimed at destroying a person's basic convictions and attitudes and replacing them with an alternative set of fixed beliefs.
The application of a concentrated means of persuasion, such as an advertising campaign or repeated suggestion, in order to develop a specific belief or motivation.

Yep it sounds like Christianity to me.

Some folks just moved a HUGE double wide in across the street from my place. They were out there when the first section was brought in. It almost turned over as they were trying to get it over the curb. This lady was praying every foot of the way, asking Jesus not to let her new mod. home get destroyed. My question is: since the deity she believes in doesn't take the time to heal people dying from diseases, or give amputee's their limbs back, why in the world would she think that her cheap trailor would be worthy of divine intervention? Yes, she was serious!

wouldn't you be considered an abusive parent?

If God is the Almighty Father of all of us, shouldn't he be more protective? If you knew your son in law was abusing your grandchild, would you intervene? I would. God doesn't.

If you knew your son was on crack cocaine, would you get him help? I would. God wouldn't.

If you knew your daughter was out on the streets cold and hungry and lost and confused, would you help her? I would. God would let her find her own way.

So don't tell me we are all children of The Almighty Father because if we followed his example of raising his children, we would have a bigger mess than we already do WITHOUT his help.

I don't want any help from God, heis parenting skills suck.

Is it possible for a person to practise both Roman Catholicism and Buddhism? Please note there is no god in Buddhism and we do not worship idols. They are used as meditation tools.

I am Buddhist, but for some reason, have found myself drawn to Roman Catholicism lately as well.

Do you believe they are following the Koran the way they should? Do you believe that gays should be hanged and victims of incest and rape should be executed? I am not attacking; I am trying to clear something up. I hear Islam is a peaceful religion on one hand; then I never see Muslims in the West stand up for themselves and denounce those that are doing these things. The silence is almost deafening and leads alot of us to believe that you agree with them to some extent. So please, what are your thoughts on this? Thank you in advance. Please, no Muslim bashing from others; this is a serious question. Thanks!

Also, I am Catholic, so I was wondering what kind of conflicting views we would have.

Me, myself I would prefer to see that on our money. That is the way this country was founded. Now we have to change due to the Atheist in the world. OR those who do not believe in God. If you don't believe why can't you turn your heads or ignore the issue like you have all did in the past.

on the planet?
your physical and inner peace?
your hope for a brighter tommorow
your inner rest and total completeness
your eternal soul?

If humanity can accomplish this in a human being how come it has never been achieved?

And why has GOD been the only thing from the beginning of creation been able to satisfy the soul of a man?

OK, I am getting really worried. All day on here, I have seen Atheists posting a link to the story of the sick woman who killed her daughter, with a question like the following:

"If there was a God, how would He allow this to happen?"

OK, now you would think that most people would "get it" after being told a few times, but I guess Atheists just aren't that smart after all. It seems like they just can't grasp the concept of free will. They just don't seem to understand that God doesn't "allow" us to do anything, we have free will to do as we please, both good and bad.

Do any Christians have any ideas to dumb down this concept so they might be able to understand it?

Heck, WE may have to create a drinking game of our own. Every time an atheist asks how God allowed something to happen, we take a drink. I'd be drunk by noon.

People have all these arguments that "prove" god exists. Then they give us info how to convert to their religion.

For arguments sake, let's say science came up with ev idence that the universe had a supernatural origin. How would you then begin to prove that that supernatural origin was your god instead of the Sumerian gods or the Hindu Brahman or any of the other millions of deities that humanity has believed in throughout our history?

Is it because they hadn't seen a more powerful force than love, then a long time ago some people concluded God is Love? Seems strange. What are your thoughts on this one topic/idea?

I finished Love in the Time of Cholera - the writing was brilliant but I did not like the protagonist and found he was more obsessed than in love...I finished "Tastes Like Cuba" some great recipes there.....also reading a debate book entitled "God" with William Lane Craig
