To a degree I believe in reincarnation. - I know it is only a belief and can be either right or wrong. I'm okay with that.
The actions I make do affect my next life, but I don't necessarily do some actions and not others just so it will go a certain way when I die this time around.
I try and live the best I can, today and now.

I do believe in a continuation of life after the death of the body, that there is then a reward for the good and punishment for evil all of which , ofcourse to some extent already starts in this life here. thus actions that are consistent with deserving the reward are the most logical line of action

Yes, I believe in Life Eternal. This body dies but the spirit lives on. There was a time that our spirits did not exist but once created, there will never be a time where they won't exist somewhere. Yes, our beliefs in what happens after death directly effects our decisions here on earth. If you know that there is a hell, you will avoid going there after you die. According to the Bible, those that endure until the end, the same shall be saved.

The afterlife you seem to look for is not the one the Bible speaks of.
The Bible says that Jesus went up into heaven. It also says that not even David, beloved of God, has gone into heaven.
Jesus, we are told is to return to the earth to set up God's kingdom.
The problem seems to be that Jesus believed the Old Testament but few people read it these days, let alone believe it.
So when Jesus makes allusions to what it says it is lost on the majority of them.

No. Jews have faith in God, Afterlife, and Consquences, yet no longer all Jews are Christians. Satanists even have faith there's a God, and Afterlife, and in Consequnces. diverse outcomes consistent with possibility... Muslims even have faith there is one God, an afterlife, and outcomes. So in case you persist with one set of outcomes, and a Christian, a non-Christian Jew, a Muslim and a Satanist all persist with diverse units of outcomes, we will not all finally end up interior the comparable place. we will not all be good. we ought to all be incorrect. yet, if we talk, and debate, and not lose our cool interior the technique, we only ought to ascertain the actuality, and make it to the afterlife. For me, meaning believing that everybody does a minimal of one evil action of their life, and that God won't tolerate any evil in His heaven, so a punishment must be delievered. regrettably, the punishment might exclude everybody from ever getting to heaven. fortuitously, the only man or woman to in no way commit evil became into God, whilst he got here to earth interior the form of a human, and became into named Jesus. Being appropriate, he volunteereed to adventure the punishment in our place. each guy or woman has the choice to take the punishment themselves, or settle for Jesus Christ's furnish to take our punishment for us. that's why Christians are so forward approximately it. they're particular there is largely one thank you to relish the afterlife, and that they want as many to be there as obtainable. in case you have a diverse opinion on a thank you to relish the afterlife, and decide the challenge of evil strikes and their outcomes, drop me a line... i desire to relish the afterlife. i want you to too!

No, I don't believe in an afterlife. I don't know how anyone can. I know everyone's capable of elaborate self-delusion, but religion: that's a real mind-boggler.
I'm sure my conviction does affect my actions. It clarifies and simplifies everything for me; liberates me from supernatural dread.
What you see, as someone once remarked, is what you get.

The words of Christ:
In my Father's house there are many,
many rooms
I'm going up there now
to prepare a place for you,
That where I am there you may also be.
If I go to prepare a place for you I will come
back again.
You know I am the Way, the Truth, the
Life keep my command,
That where I am there you may also be.
Up where the Truth
The Truth will set you free.
In the world you will have trouble
but I leave you my peace,
That where I am there you may also be.
Remember you did not choose me -
no I have chosen you.
The world will show you hatred -
the Spirit will show you truth,
That where I am there you may also be.
I've come down from the Father -
time for me to go back up.
One command I leave you -
love as I have loved,
That where I am there you may also be.
