Is it because they hadn't seen a more powerful force than love, then a long time ago some people concluded God is Love? Seems strange. What are your thoughts on this one topic/idea?

Any culture that worshiped the Sun had a very real powerful force to be thankful to. All saw it and witnessed how it made their lives good, providing warmth and light, it made the vegetation for them to eat, it was a provider. That God, the sun, is love in a tangible way.

Could be. The sun was considered the grandfather of all things. Mother Earth, Father Sky, Grandmother Moon, Grandfather Sun. So, it goes to figure that since love is warm and the sun is warm that the two go hand in hand. Both are powerful forces as well. It's not as strange as it may seem.

Interesting perspective. I'll have to think about it some more, but you raise a great point.

A lot of people around here worship Wal-Mart because it's the biggest and most powerful thing around.

No. Love is one of Jehovah's 4 major qualilties: those being love, justice, wisdom and power....they are the 4 living creatures surrounding him in Revelation. He is said to be love as it is the most encompassing and important.

1 Cor. 13:says of faith, hope and love that love is greatest of all.

It is for love of humans that he sent his son, provided the Bible, and has allowed time for us to learn rather than just destroying us.

Nooooooo!

It is not about force! God is love coz that is what he is.. Christianity is based on Love coz it is based on the love that God has loved us from the beginning. Jesus is the great evidence of that love and Jesus loves us so he provided us salvation..
