I finished Love in the Time of Cholera - the writing was brilliant but I did not like the protagonist and found he was more obsessed than in love...I finished "Tastes Like Cuba" some great recipes there.....also reading a debate book entitled "God" with William Lane Craig

Also, does anyone else tend to read 2 or 3 books at a time or are you more of a one book at a timer? :-)

The Glass Palace two thirds of the way through. It spans three generations of living under colonial rule of the British empire which starts in Mandalay during 1885. I have arrived at the late nineteen thirties and which period encompasses the complete breakup of Burma and the start of world war 11. It is written by Amitav Ghosh an Indian writer who has written this book in English with such grace and expertise. It is beguiling a read for those who have an interest in how the empire not only tore cultures apart but which also provided a richness by bringing together nations and cultures hitherto unknown to each other.

I am about to read the golden compass, I pick it up from the library today
I have been reading the dark tower series by Steven king for like 2 years now. It seems I am having problems getting into the 5th book.
I read a good portion of the God Delusion by Richard Dawkins but I had to return it to the library. I will probably wait a couple weeks are check it out again. I had it for a month.

"The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood.
That is an alarming book about the dangers of religious fundamentalism.

Marquez's books are wonderful.
I'm reading "Ellery's Protest" by Stephen Solomon now.
I can veer from one to two or three but try to stick to one.
