wouldn't you be considered an abusive parent?

If God is the Almighty Father of all of us, shouldn't he be more protective? If you knew your son in law was abusing your grandchild, would you intervene? I would. God doesn't.

If you knew your son was on crack cocaine, would you get him help? I would. God wouldn't.

If you knew your daughter was out on the streets cold and hungry and lost and confused, would you help her? I would. God would let her find her own way.

So don't tell me we are all children of The Almighty Father because if we followed his example of raising his children, we would have a bigger mess than we already do WITHOUT his help.

I don't want any help from God, heis parenting skills suck.

No hay igual -Yeah, well I can prove he has not helped people in those situations, the newspapers are full of stories where people turned to God and got no help.

If I raised my children the way God has raised his, I would have been arrested by Child Protective Services for:

Giving the rules of the house to the oldest child only.
Allowing him to post them on the fridge
Walking out the door
Letting all the other kids put their rules on the fridge and claim that they're mine
Sending my son to straighten them out and letting them kill him
Not talking to them for the next 2000 years but still letting them put new rules on the fridge... in my name.

ps- sorry for the "tag", for those who saw it, but this question is near and dear to me.

I don't know which God you worship, and I don't pass judgments. I'm open minded, and believe that. There are so many injustices in this world, it's hard to maintain faith at all.
What ever your faith, I think(and I could be wrong) live your life on your morals and beliefs. Is God going to damn the ones that aren't aware of his existence(i.e newborns, little ones, etc)? There is a purpose, for which no one will know. But times like these,it makes it so hard to believe. Starvation, war, crime and disease we made as a "society". We should look at ourselves, and try to right the wrong.
But then again, I could be wrong

and how is this a question? i think u have more of an statement then anything. take a bigger look at the picture. God gave us free will....he will only intervene when asked too... he gave us free will...this is the price we have to pay for it. it was our choice to use that cocaine, in which we got addicted too.. it was our choice to walk to the streets.. etc.... instead of looking your nose down at God.. why don't u pray and ask him for his help? ask him to help you help them? they can not be hapled if they don't want it. i dont know about u but i knew people in these perdictiments and let me tell u this much....they refuse help most of the time. its a pride thing and NO ONE can help them until they themselves are ready. we all are God's children.. just grown up ones. we excersie our free will everyday every minute every second. do you really want God to intervene and hold our hands every step of the way? if so kiss your free will good bye. because we wouldn't be allowed to do so much because it's evil or could harm us. so take a bigger look and pray. it sound slike u have so much anger at what has been going on in your life.. instead of getting angry and making things worse, ask for his help. then and only then will things get better. if not for the sake of others in your life, atleast for your own sake. Ask God to help you and forgive you for bein so niavee. He loves yuou and all of us. I'll pray for u too. God Bless you!

You mean, if I neglected, ignored and allowed anything to happen to my children - good or bad - and "didn't" parent or take care of them from the moment of their birth just hoping they'd figure everything out for themselves and turn out exactly as I expect for them to?

Yes, if I acted this way, I'd be considered an abusive parent and my kids would most certainly be taken from me.

"God" is no parent of mine and I certainly don't aspire to be anything like the fictional God of the Bible. (I'm assuming thats the one you are referring to). I have higher standards!

I AM HERE TO SAY THAT "MY" GOD HAS GAVE ME DELIVERENCE BEYOND WHAT THE HUMAN MIND CANT COMPREHEND!!! I DONT KNOW WHAT BOOK EVERYONE ELSE IS READING BUT "MY" GOD GAVE ME SELF WILL, AND "MY" OWN CHOICES, WHEN WE HAVE MADE MISTAKES AND WE ASK GOD FOR HELP HE WILL PULL US OUT OF IT, IN WAYS WE NEVER SAW COMING..... BY THE WAY, THERE ARE ALOT OF CHILDREN THAT DONT EVEN HAVE TO BE ON THE STREETS AND THEY ARE COLD AND HUNGRY, THEY ARE MOTHERS DOING CRACK WITH THERE CHILD...
SOMEBODY NEEDS TO REPENT AND ASK GOD TO COME INTO THEIR LIVES AND STOP WORRYING ABOUT WHY "GOD" DOESNT DO EVERYTHING POSSIBLE FOR US!!! WE HAVE A CHOICE AND DONT EVER EVER EVER FORGET THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well if God sent his bravest Son to suffer for a while so the rest of His sons would not have to suffer then that makes Him a concerned Father that cares for all of us, thanks to what He did we are now able to return someday to His presence, so yes He is a great Father.

Besides He didn't force jesus to do anything, and the thunders and strom that came just after Jesus' death proves how upset and sad God was at that moment.
