It's popular and simple to say he's omnipotent ("all-powerful,") but I think it's pretty clear that's an oversimplification.

At the very least, there's the problem of evil. Things which are very obviously not good go on in the world, and for some reason or another, God doesn't stop them. So it's either because he can't (he's not powerful enough), or because he'd like to, but won't allow himself to (that is, he can limit his own power, and has done so).

That's at the very least. This isn't to mention that there are things that obviously aren't put together as well as they could be (weather disasters on the Earth, defects and inefficiencies in the human body, et cetera); it seems that God has not only the obvious limitations, but more.

What are God's limits?

Non-believers should not 1) get the day off, 2) be able to take Christmas sales discounts, 3) be allowed to attend office Christmas parties or 4) be allowed to view the baby Jesus manger in the city park.

If you want in on all the good times then you have to become a born again Christian like me.

Some answers I saw recently boiled down to "If you don't believe like me, then shut up". I know not all christians think this way, but I want to see how many there are.

him and said you sell your soul to the devil, is there no way to return to him, are you eternally condemned?
Especially when the very thing you sold your soul to the devil for (because you thought God wasn't answering you) was something that turned up a couple of months later. And an authoritative voice with great finality came in your head immediately after you'd said it saying "as you wish"

First and foremost, I don't consider myself religious. I have been hearing a lot of controversy about the Golden Compass movie coming out. Some people are enraged because the movie supposedly has atheist undertones and may "promote" atheism to children. For those who take umbrage at this, why is promoting atheism wrong, and promoting Christianity right?

"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men."
Matthew 5:13

If it can't how true is this scripture?

Someone told me to not ask do and don't questions about Islam but ask about the spiritual aspect of Islam. If I were Muslim would I get in trouble for not praying 5 times - what if I only prayed 3? I am just curious about Islam. Another question is are you allowed to pray for others - can you do that like Christians do?

I’m an avid skier and about three times a season the slopes are infected with eager evangelicals who just can’t wait to share their religious dribble with those on us who ski single. You all whip out your cute little tracts and begin your mind numbing spiel. When I’m polite and say something like, “I’m not interested, thank you.” You seem to see this as an invitation to engage me in a discussion. The only thing that seems to be effective is being rude and saying something like “Shut the ****-up.”

This year I’ve had business cards printed up with a Sigil of Baphomet on it that says “Kindly keep your superstitions about your ineffective and pathetic god to yourself. P.S. I’m a Satanist” My intent is to hand this out to you all when you whip out your tracts.
