Bow down and worship him? nothing matters at all except that we worship and kiss his butt, and if we dont we burn in Hell, isnt that a selfish way of getting somebody to love you?

by the way, I do believe in God, just not the one I just described.

If you have some strong (or not so strong) beliefs, I'd really like to hear them. I'm kind of confused about the path I'm taking religiously at the moment. I've always been raised as a Catholic but I'm almost starting to question it at this point. I've been researching a lot of other religions lately, trying to find one that matches my beliefs. So this would really help me in my search. Thanks so much :)

If god knows everything, then why would prayer work? Wouldn’t the knowledge of any and every event result in the inability to change any event and thus answer the prayer.

like God, nothing has that power except Jehovah himself... so what do you make of this scripture of Gods omnipresent spirit?
PSALMS 139:7-10 - Where can I go from your spirit,
And where can I run away from your face?

8 If I should ascend to heaven, there you would be;
And if I should spread out my couch in She´ol, look! you [would be there].

OR concerning JESUS' omnipresence in his own words in
MATTHEW 18:20 - For where there are two or three gathered together in my name, there I am in their midst.”

THAT COVERS THE ENTIRE WORLD! i know he's not santa clause as he can zip around from africa to antartica in a single evening. HE IS IN THIER MIDSTS. all the time when beckoned by his followers. what can you say regarding these facts?

this is my research topic... you feel free to give your opinion on here... but do you think this topic is too broad? should i just say 'christianity' as opposed to religion to narrow things down a bit? I hypothesize that those couples who have strong roots in religion will over all be happier~ however I'm not sure how to take into acount the religious radicals.... they may NOT be as happy... should I give TWO surveys to them, and tell them that they are unrelated? one about religion and one about marraige??? thanks

form opinions about the actions of others? Isn't that kind of impossible? Did he just mean for us to keep our opinions to ourselves?

Is it their spirit, soul, aura, personality, presence, 'spirituality',....... I hear that we are all beautiful and my take would be it is the soul of a person that makes them lovely. I respectfully honor your opinions. Many blessings.

I always thought my grandfather (paternal) was one of the loveliest humans ever to encounter although I have many favorites on here. I have never seen Aum (one of our contributors) but I think the this person is lovely. All thoughts welcome.

If god knows everything, why did he bother creating earth if he already knows who is going to be attending heaven and hell?

I've seen several questions asking if we as Jews are a 'race' or a 'religion'.

Many people answer 'race'. If I could just clarify that this is incorrect, in fact, because:

a) if we were a race, then nobody could convert to Judaism; clearly people do and once they have done so, they are every bit as Jewish as someone born into the faith

b) there are Jews from all ethnic backgrounds, ranging from Japanese to Swedish, Yemenite to Indian. So clearly we are not one cohesive, separate 'race'.

Make sense? :)

In my newspaper this morning, the end frame of Calvin and Hobbes shows the following comment from Calvin...
"Isn't it sad how some people's grip on their lives is so precarious that they'll embrace any preposterous delusion rather than face an occasional bleak truth?"
Bill Watterson - a genius.
