I dont believe in anything speific, but I have been reading the Koran and it got me thinking about religion in general. Think about how MANY religions there are today. Can you really blame someone for not believing in you speifically if you were God? Especially when every religion promises something bad if you dont?

I think that as long as you know right from wrong and really do the best as a human you will be fine. Right? Input from every religion would be great!

The word "Rapture" never appears in the Bible. No one single verse of Scripture supports it. You have to string together two or more unrelated verses to even justify the concept. Will I go to Hell for denying that as a doctrinal belief, even if I affirm the remaining tenants of Christianity?

“He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it." Matthew 10:37-39

Eve and Cain? or Eve and Abel?

Adam and Cain? If Cain's name were Steve, instead of Cain....would Christians still use that "Adam and Steve" bit?

Both Xmas and Easter are originally Pagan holidays. Since Christianity views Paganism as evil, why bother celebrating a holiday that has Paganism at its roots????

In Biblical times, people were identified by whom they descended, from where they came from, and which ethnicity they were (which is why names were listed like the following: Jesus of Nazareth, Lydia of Thyatira, etc.). This is because, in these times, others judged people according to these different aspects. Now let’s look at the second of three ‘strikes’ against Jesus: He was from Galilee.

Galilee was like the Iraq of yesteryear, and mentioning this land to the Romans would have much of the same effect. The Jewish historian Josephus said that Galileans “from childhood were trained for war” and “[Galilee] produced the most notorious leaders of the [Jewish] fight against Rome.” It would be safe to say that the Romans would be incredibly suspicious of anyone who came from this place, and would become hostile against any Jew from Galilee, knowing that these people were most likely trying to undermine and overthrow the Roman social order. Add to that trying to preach the crucifixion of Jesus, the punishment for rebels against Rome, and this would have greatly supported the already negative stereotype of the Galileans.

Why would a Roman follow some rebel who is thought to be trying to overthrow Roman rule? Supporting Jesus would have been like treason to the Roman Empire. By following Jesus, a Roman would have been cut off, mocked, or even killed along with the other rebels. Only something like the resurrection of Jesus, firmly backed up by evidence and eyewitnesses, would have explained the uncanny spread of Christianity into Rome.

(For those who want to object to Jesus’ existence and crucifixion, watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aesLSOLuapM )

Jesus died for us on the cross so that we could be forgiven for our sins.

Why would Jesus sacrifice Himself when He did not even know if we were going to sin or not?

Because humans sin. There are no exceptions since no one is going to be sinless.

So it could then be said that we must accept Jesus as our savior due to the fact that we have or will sin in our lives.

Does that mean if we happen not to sin we wouldn't need to accept Jesus since we have a clean heart?

Could a deaf down-syndromed person sin? I doubt it.
Who doesn't know isn't wrong.

In that case Jesus didn't die for the down-syndromed people I guess?

So the question is:

Are down-syndromed people sinful?
If they aren't then Jesus didn't die for them since they get to go to heaven as clean people anyway?

If they are sinful, then how could they accept Jesus?

Even a normal person like me got trouble in believeing in Jesus; let alone a down-syndromed person.

When I was younger and reading about various religions I always found the pantheistic religions more interesting then the one-god-takes-all religions. Just seemed more realistic to me, how about you? Before I knew all the arguments against all dieties, naturaly.

Please don't contradict my question by saying boys cry more easily than or just as easily as girls, because I'm not talking about when they have physical pain (it's even there) I'm talking about frustration and anger,...emotional vulnerability. I don't think boys and girls are on an even playing field here.

why do people have to create straw men and lies about beliefs to attack instead of attacking the true beliefs of Catholics?

I think it is because non-Catholic Christians who hate His Church do so out of evil contention thus avoiding the real truth that their beliefs can not match the veracity of Catholic teaching. In the Bible the Catholic Church is called the "bulwark and ground of the truth" which will never fall into apostasy. Those are difficult credentials to attack.

Why don't Catholic critics check Catholic beliefs and find out if the true beliefs match with what they believe and have been told about Catholic beliefs instead of persisting in bearing false witness against Catholics and Christ's Church?

Indeed no less a source than the stalwart Harper’s Bible Dictionary records that “the formal doctrine of the Trinity as it was defined by the great church councils of the fourth and fifth centuries is not to be found in the [New Testament]."

Paul F. Achtemeier, ed. (1985), 1099; emphasis added.

If this is the FACTS and the Bible its self is so specific when describing the relations ship between the God head, then why do the majority of Christians believe in this "incomprehensible" doctrine?
