the Apostles to speak and write about Christian unity???

Theirs was based not on a monolithic organizational structure but on love.

All JWs many millions who attend their meetings read the same material, hear the same music, sing the same songs and learn to think the same thoughts.

"...love, for it is a perfect bond of union" ...love which bonds all things together in perfect unity." ( Col 3:14 NWT, TEV )

A man defeats sin with Jesus. He Learns to walk like Jesus, and "become" perfect as him. So lets just say I sinned till I was 20, then sin went under my feet, with Jesus...not his blood(means you look to him to carry you but you are still a sinner) So if I lived 1000 yrs old...the last time God saw a sin in me was before 20. So for 980 yrs I did not sin once and I would never sin agian because I learned to love like the father. Do you think a man has found a way to defeat sin, and make it into heaven, with Jesus. instead of being a sinner and sacraficing Jesus and getting into heaven.

So I did defeated sin? do you think this is possible, for all things are possible with our God.......and I think this is possible and it is the only way Jesus makes sense to me. No one called on heaven for his righteousness, and that is why he sent his son to die for you.

Why do many Christians believe that faith must be the basis of morality, despite the fact that the vast majority of atheists are upstanding citizens? How do they reconcile this apparent paradox?

do you think our minds could ever grasp (with any degree of success) the reality of god? i hope our god isn't simple enough that we could describe him in a book.

what is your faith and how are you sure the brains of your faith have encompassed the nature of god?

Pat Robertsom believes in God's punishments. he once said that 9/11 was a punishment from God for tolerating gays. And now it turns out he himself had a prostate cancer. I wonder, what kind of sin did God punish him for?

I have heard they wrote their own Bible, are controlling of their members, and the organization is a cult as apposed to a Religion such as Anglicans, Lutherans, etc. I have checked the internet but would like some first hand experiences shared with the populous.

Christians, doesn't it seem kind of harsh after all the good he's done and the life he's been leading?

Couldn't he at least get a temporary Visa?

stems from the organization's power over them?

Here the WT Society quotes a loyal JW as saying"
" I have discovered that there is only one religious organization on earth capable of clearly defining the boundaries or relative freedom. What particularly convinced me during my study with Jehovah's Witnesses is the fact that this organization has the strength to require of its members that they stay within these boundaries" Awake, March 8, 1988, page 19

All of the Christian bashing ...
More than 30 people showed up today at my church, giving their own time, to put together baskets of complete Thanksgiving meals for those who otherwise would not have them. They were very grateful, and it is incredible to do something like that.
Does that get missed here?
Grateful attitudes and hearts live in that gratitude and realize what they have rather than being focused on bashing others. And that goes for both sides of this forum.
How do you serve one another? If you don't maybe you can think about how you can, rather than spend energy just tearing at the beliefs of others.

This past Sunday I was baptized for the first time and was prayed over. I suddenly had a fit of uncontrollable laughter. I didn't understand what was happening. This is a first for me. What does this mean? I have read a lot of conflicting views on this.

I've often heard the argument that if homosexuals are permitted to have sex, then what's the difference in allowing pedophiles to molest minors.
Putting aside the "Is homosexuality OK?" debate aside entirely, there is a MASSIVE difference between homosexuality and pedophilia. Pedophilia is not sexual relations between to consenting parties...it is forced and without consent.
Why do so many people not see the difference?

The book series that the "Golden Compass" is based on is supposed to be pro-atheism if I am correct. In the third book God is killed, so the question is:

Why put God in a book that is supposed to support atheism?

God Bless.

'Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.'
(Psalm 121:4)

The above passage says that God never sleeps nor slumbers.

'And the same day, when the evening was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, ASLEEP on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish?'(Mark 4:35-40)

Now THIS passage is saying Jesus was sleeping on the ship. Question. If Jesus was God in the flesh, why was He sleeping on the ship when Psalm 121:4 says that God never sleeps nor slumbers?

ONLY by the cross....or does it just say threw him we are saved.

I am searching for another way into heaven with him, other then sacraficing him to get in. Or for a perfect path into heaven.

Thank you.....

I am looking for WE NEED TO SACRAFICE HIM....that he HAD to take the fall for us. Without his Blood we all would go to hell. Witch is wrong in my eye's. For there has to be another way that no one searched for, that is why he sent his son to die for us, no one looked for this path and he made a easy path for you with his son. To be created to be thrown into hell sounds wrong and have no choice to sin. And we do not have a choice, we all have to sin...no one has ever really been freed from it. We just look at the blood to get into heaven...even if we are "still"sinners.

So is there a bible verse that HE HAD TO be crusified for our sins? That ONLY BY THE BLOOD. or is it only threw him(no mention of the blood)that we are saved?

Christians believe humans got free will.
Actually atheists also know that we got free will.

I can choose whether to eat or sleep with free will.

That means that God did not predestinate anything.

Would you Christians shock if I said that infact humanity could be compared to a novel?

A novel with a complete story in it all the way from the start to the end.

Our life is in fact predestinated by God.
Every single move you make is predestined!

Why?

The key lies in the fact that God has foreknowlegde of the future.

Lets compare our lives to a movie production.

If you are the producer you would know exactly what the story would be like even if the movie hasn't been produced yet.

God created humanity with a story plot and knew exactly what would happen even before He created us.

Free will is just a mechanism in our story.
Cars need fuel to run. Humans need free will to run.

We feel like making choices when in actual our destiny is already written!
