All of the Christian bashing ...
More than 30 people showed up today at my church, giving their own time, to put together baskets of complete Thanksgiving meals for those who otherwise would not have them. They were very grateful, and it is incredible to do something like that.
Does that get missed here?
Grateful attitudes and hearts live in that gratitude and realize what they have rather than being focused on bashing others. And that goes for both sides of this forum.
How do you serve one another? If you don't maybe you can think about how you can, rather than spend energy just tearing at the beliefs of others.

Over 130 families received baskets, and over 200 more will come tomorrow.

Dear Jessica - I hope you realize that was not my purpose. Gotta have legalism? Should we keep our love shown to others from those who don't know about it?

It is wonderful... God thinks so too.

There is no scripture saying we should not be excited about good works - this is church legalism. I would like to hear about your service and bless you for it - it is not about me anyway, I know that.

As above - your focus is...??

On behalf of those who were blessed because of those faith servants, thank you.
Christians around the world need to be the light and salt of the world.
Otherwise, unbelievers have no reason to consider we have something they do not.

As I have told others before, I do not share how I honor God with my service. It is personal an to his glory not mine. Though I will say that where I work (a Christian University) collect food and give it to one or two needy families. It may not seem like a lot, but this is just something the people in the Maintenance department do and they are not much better off than the recipeints.

Amen!!!!!!! Way to go!!!!! I loved that kind of church service. I did it most of my life. I was just raised that way. But the church (I was last in for 6 yrs) just didn't care. I had to quit. I couldn't spend 40 hrs a wk @ work and the church, too. I ended up being the only one.

Why do you care what people on here think? Are you doing it for the praise of god, or for your own praise? There are good and bad people on this website, and you aren't going to change their personalities. If people want to be jerks, they will be jerks.

"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly".
