noah or moses?

Question

which came first? i think that noah came first, but i could be wrong.

please use scripture, not just assumption or common knowledge to support your answer, either way.

what do you make of this?

Well, looking at an approximate time line from Adam & Eve to Noah, in Genesis 5:1-32, there are a total of ten generations. This comes to a total of 1,656 years.

So I'm not sure that's enough time for all the people mentioned at Moses' time to have been born. The Egyptians would had have to been pumping out the kids pretty furiously in order to have such a mighty nation and be taking slaves of all the people around them.

I just don't think it's possible given the short amount of time. Moses went on a killing rampage after leaving Egypt, and there were lots of people everywhere. Remember there were only two (Adam & Eve) to start with (Not counting the people of Nod, whoever they were)

So that makes Noah first, then Moses came along afterwards.

Of course, I did have to use some assumption here, but it's the best I could do, since the Bible doesn't tell us for sure.

Noah came first, biblically speaking. He existed before Abraham, and Moses was a descendant of Abraham, as Moses was a Hebrew. After all, everybody except Noah's family was wiped out in the biblical flood, so Moses HAD to come later.

I've always thought that the account of the Nephilim was one of the more fascinating in the bible; I always have to wonder what they actually represent in the real world :-)

The story of Noah is found in Genesis 5-8. Moses doesn't appear until the next book, Exodus.
