... sweetie, metal isn't alive.

Trust me, evolution is as much true as the theory of gravity. You're not supposed to take your mythology literally.

There is a good case for both creation and then evolution taking place afterword. Many scientists claim one way or the other and cite all sorts evidence. I believe evolution is a tool used by the almighty to make to continue the work of creation. Darwin's finches are a good example, no amount of christian faith can realistically dispute the environment caused local evolution. However evolution cant conclusively prove that gradually all things evolved because fossil records and geology records show that cataclysmic changes have occurred in the blink of an eye.

If you had advanced knowledge of physics and chemistry you would understand why your comparison is a horrible one - however, why can't you just accept that god made life through evolution? To try to answer your question simply
- no, a tree does not roll off a mountain and become our tables and chairs. But, a tree does drop a seed and from that seed a new tree appears.

Unlike humans, the things you mentioned (chairs, tables, airplane, etc) are not living things. There is a fundamental difference between creating a human and creating a painting.

Building furniture out of a tree that God created, doesn't make us co-creators, dear one.

God supplied all the elements to make everything man makes. Without the basic elements, man would be toast!

How are humans co-creators? That sounds like blasphemy.

Life evolves. The survivors pass on their genes. Humans evolved such that they use tools.
