When I was younger and reading about various religions I always found the pantheistic religions more interesting then the one-god-takes-all religions. Just seemed more realistic to me, how about you? Before I knew all the arguments against all dieties, naturaly.

My God (argh, lol), I asked a question that didn't end in cross-bashing! Praise be to the ME!

When I was a child, I got my hands on every book of Greek and Roman mythology I could find. I absolutely thrived on it.
I became more interested in the Greek mythology than the Roman when I realised the majority of the Roman Gods and myths were copy-catted from the Greeks. But I still found the different versions of the stories intriguing.
I guess they appealled to me because the stories seemed more real than the Bible - they were more exciting and it was easier to identify with those Gods than the Christian God.
The Gods of Greek and Roman mythology had personalities, emotions, talents and even faults. They were more personal and in reading their stories, I felt as though I was getting to know them.
I enjoyed the moral lessons in the stories too, they always gave me a lot to think about.
I never for a moment believed that any of it was real - I was raised as a Jehovah's Witness and my mother disliked my interest in mythology.
Now I laugh at myself for my ready acceptance of the Christian God as real, yet my instant dismisal of the Greek and Roman Gods existance.
As an atheist, I still enjoy reading polytheistic mythology, I find it has an utterly different out look to other religions and the stories really grab my attention.

I found all the different varieties of religion interesting. What seems real to me, is not having one.

I always found Shinto a very intriguing one, partly because I'm obsessed with Japanese culture.
