I'm in this wierd phase in my life. I'm 22, and I've been thinking alot about how someone would write a biography on my life. I think my biggest fear is not death, but the idea of no longer existing.

Death sounds relaxing and kind of like silence...but not-existing has this certain chaos where you are no longer part of the world, and therefore can no longer experience the things that happen or give anything back to the world.

I'm not one for poetry or philosophy, but I'm starting to realize that I'm mortal and not invincible. Someday my biography will be written and there will be nothing I can do to change it.

John 5:39 - Search the Scriptures; for in them ye think ye have Eternal Life: and they are they which testify of Me.

Every sect and denomination of Christian cults claim the "Gift" of the HOLY GHOST. This gift is so cheap that 75,000,000 "BORN AGAIN" Christians of America are also boasting this possession. (a) "and he (John the Baptist) shall be filled with the HOLY GHOST, even from his mother's womb. LUKE 1:15 I have not yet been able to establish what this phrase means from his mother's womb . . ." really Alas, poor Jesus (peace be upon him) had to mark time for THIRTY YEARS after his birth to obtain his gift of the HOLY GHOST on his baptism at the hands of John the Baptist (MATTHEW 3:16). (b) " and Elizabeth was filled with the HOLY GHOST. LUKE 1:41 (c) "And his father Zacharias was filled with the HOLY GHOST . . ." LUKE 1:67 (d) "he (Jesus pbuh) breathed on them, and saith unto them, receive ye the HOLY GHOST." JOHN 20:22 (e) "But he that shall blaspheme against the HOLY GHOST  hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation." MARK 3:29. HOLY GHOST: The words "Holy Ghost" here, sho

Please do not read this as an insult. It was asked of me, because from time to time I visit a ward. I wanted to see your answer.

In a discourse Brigham Young says:

"Who can tell us of the inhabitants of this little planet that shines of an evening, called the moon? When we view its face we may see what is termed "the man in the moon," and what some philosophers declare are the shadows of mountains. But these sayings are very vague, and amount to nothing; and when you inquire about the inhabitants of that sphere you find that the most learned are as ignorant in regard to them as the most ignorant of their fellows. So it is with regard to the inhabitants of the sun. Do you think it is inhabited? I rather think it is. Do you think there is any life there? No question of it; it was not made in vain. It was made to give light to those who dwell upon it, and to other planets; and so will this earth when it is celestialized. (cont)

For example, would not believing in an afterlife make an atheist treat killing with greater moral seriousness than someone who thought that killing was simply delivering a person to another plane of existence?

Does belief in an afterlife make people behave better or worse in this one?

Weird question, but I am curious. I noticed at the Methodist church everyone stood up while singing, while at the LDS ward they all sat down. I prefer to sit while investigating a church, because honestly I don't know the words and my voice is horrible. While everyone was singing I was just moving my mouth and trying to form the words as everyone else was.. ;p It was weird. When I am sitting, I just kind of look at the book and read what the words say on it. While I am standing, I look around and no one seems to be holding a book.

I felt bad, because as everyone was singing "Amazing grace" I sort of just moved my mouth and said amazing grace how sweet thou are, blah blah blah blah blah blah.

Anyways, I thought I would add a reason why I ask. Thanks.

We are told that Christ Died on the Friday and that he rose from the dead on the Sunday.
Where and in what condition was he during those few days?
One source says that he descended into Hell. Why?
If it was, as I have heard, to offer salvation to the damned, then does not that suggest that Hell need not be a permanent condition?

ok so this has always caught my curiosity. why do you belive there is a trinity? in the bible when jesus was on earth he prayed to his father in heaven ie God. how do you pray to youself? in mathew 3:16 it says when jesus was baptized god's spirit came to him. not god his spirit. god's spirit is just his active force not a person. in deuteronomy 6:4 it says listen o isreal jehovah is our god is one god.malachi 2:10 is it not 1 father that all of us have? is it not 1 god that has created us? mark 10:18 jesus said to him why do you call me good? no 1 is good except one, god.

If so can some Christians explain Job Chapter 38

31Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

32Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?

What are we talking about here? Well in verse 31 we're talking about CONSTELLATIONS, the Pleiades, and Orion. The Mazzaroth in verse 32 is none other than the ZODIAC, which is ASTROLOGY.

The entire bible is based upon basic astrology, and astronomy. Christmas day is nothing more than the day the SUN begins its return to the northern hemisphere.

So if astrology, and the studying of the stars is forbidden, then why is every "holy day," and the book itself based upon it as well?

This is not a accusation against all non believers. But I have noticed, that there does seem to be a great deal of non believers trying to make theists come to terms with non theists beliefs and convert them towards non belief in entirety.

Is it just human nature to do so? Is it because we feel safety in numbers, or is there another reason?

Again, before you answer this question, this is not an attack against atheists, or any non believer. I'm just curious of what you think.

Thanks =)
