If God knows what the future holds for us,what our destiny is. why does He let the present even happen. if one's destined for heaven or hell,why does one have to go through life b4 one can get there. i mean like what is the point?

Here is the reason. God is :God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Son (Jesus ) does not want to know who will go to Heaven and who will go to Hell.This is the way he wants it.And God being God can do anything he pleases. He is hoping for the conversion of the world to trust in his divine mercy. But he knows it's impossible for all mankind to turn to him instead of Satan. God the Father as i understand knows a lot more about us .
